"We were greeted on arrival by the owner, who was extremely welcoming and hospitable. The room was extremely spacious and well appointed and the breakfast excellent. Dullstroom is evidently the highest town in South Africa at well over 2000 metres above sea level. As such it is somewhat cooler than most of the country and provided a welcome respite. We would have no hesitation in recommending Critchley Hackle and hope to return ourselves next year."

"We booked in at Duck & Trout after someone on Twitter recommended them to me - we were lucky to get one of the last rooms available as the whole of Dullstroom turned into Lekkerland for a day-festival. We had a lovely stay, and we even requested to check out a bit later as we wanted to go for a hike, and it was perfect. "I stayed at the cottage with my elderly parents and 10 year old son. The house was lovely, clean and fully equipped with cookware, dishes and even a washer and dryer which came in handy as two of our suitcases had been delayed. We visited in the winter (late July) and it was cold! We made a fire in the fireplace which was lovely but it was hard to warm up the house, even with the wall heaters. I kept wishing I had brought my slippers as the stone floors froze my feet. But a fully recommended...
