Dunedin Motel

They gave us a spacious room, at the front of the house, rather than one of the more usual motel units further back on the property. Obviously only one of these available, but it was unexpected and really nice.

Clean and tidy

Given a warm welcome, bearing in mind that I was 2 hours early for the official check in time. Peter should me to the room and where to park the car. He also gave me bus timetable and explained where to alight when I went into the city. The room was clean and tidy, set in an older part of the building with extremely high ceilings and a very large bay window looking out directly onto the road, I thought that the road noise would be a problem, but on a night time became quiet. Good shower facility plenty of pressure. Maybe the whole room could do with a lick of paint etc. But overall I enjoyed my stay.

Great motel between Dunedin and Otago Peninsular

This motel was a very pleasant surprise. It's not in the center of Dunedin but on the road out to the Otago Peninsular, not far from Tunnel beach, so well placed to cover everything Dunedin has to offer. The room was huge and had a great kitchen as well. Very clean, very well maintained, excellent wifi. The service was friendly and efficient. There's also a fish & chip shop and a brewpub within walking distance. Overall very pleased with this location and highly recommended

Awesome Arcadian!

The couple owning/running the place were VERY friendly and hospitable. Everything had been thought of by way of kitchen equipment etc.; towels were changed daily and tea/coffee-making facilities topped up (tea, coffee, sugar etc.). Only concern I had was initially looking for a closet - the obvious door revealed only a big water tank, but then I realised the 2nd bed (a single, not used by us) was pushed right up against the door of the actual closet (which came complete with coathangers) so I just pushed the bed away from the door by a foot or two to enable access. At first I wondered why the single bed wasn't placed along the same long wall as the double bed, with the luxurious 2-seater leather couch on the wall opposite (where the single bed was), but I quickly realised the positioning was so that you could watch the nice-sized flat-screen TV on the wall from either the double bed or the couch. So, no other sensible option. Had a wonderful, comfortable and pleasant stay. Unit was very quiet despite being next to the road.

Very basic facilities, probably because the motel itself is a little bit dated. Even though was only there for one night, only had one roll of toilet paper provided.

Easy access to the city centre.

We have stayed at this motel before and once again we were not disappointed. Lovely HUGE room, very comfortable bed and lovely en-suite. Would certainly recommend this establishment.

Great place to stay.

A lovely warm & cosy unit for a cold night in Dunedin. Very comfortable furniture and beds (on the firm side). Had everything we needed.

In great nick

Yes, it's an older motel, but everything was super spotless clean. We arrived late evening and were out early morning, so didn't use kitchenette. Basically showered, slept and watched a little of the giant tv. I slept fantastically - very comfy. And I couldn't get over how sparkly clean everything was. Would definitely stay again

Nice motel close to City

Nice clean and comfortable room with kitchenette. Several shops very cloesby and supermarket only a few minutes by car. Less than 10 minutes drive to city and railway station.

It is what it is.....

OK for the price we didn't expect much but we weren't disappointed. My partner snores so we thought we'd request a two bedrooms, we got two separate units. When we arrived the units had a separate bedroom and two single beds in the lounge so we could have only got one unit if the description was better of the set up and saved some money. The greeting was very welcoming. The rooms had an unpleasant aroma when we arrived but like I say it is what it is for the price. The bed was comfortable and we slept ok and that's all it was for us, it was a place to sleep as we weren't there all day. The location is handy for most things which was a plus! They gave us a tiny bottle of milk each on the first day and said if we needed more, just ask. We did ask and were told that was it, no more. Go buy your own. That was a first as every motel I have stayed in always refreshed a small container of milf each day. Not a biggy as there was a dairy down the road but sometimes it is the little things that count.
