"Never been to Lincoln so overall loved the place. A mixture of modern and boutique shops and cafe/bars and the hotel was the icing on the cake. Lovely scenery literally next to the cathedral. Clean and friendly from the moment we arrived. Room was huge and tasteful as well as clean airy. Was quite noisy on the evening as were on the main road but didn’t stop us sleeping in the massive comfy bed. Elemis products to use was a fabulous wow factors and then breakfast…what can I say, delicious! We went out elsewhere to eat but came and sat in the bar and it was a lovely atmosphere. Will definitely be coming back…thank you White Hart"

"Clean room, helpful staff. The shower had great water pressure we were given plenty of towels one small one large for each person and the hairdryer was very powerful we brought a sound machine for our 3 year old and it helped drown out any sounds from the corridor but overall it was very quiet anyway. It was very dark once the lights were off and curtains closed which helped aid a good night's sleep. I wasn't told how to go about getting breakfast when we checked in but the lady the next morning was really helpful finding out for me and telling us where we needed to be. There was a small dent at the back of the bathroom where someone obviously was too zealous opening it and the bathroom door handle doesn't turn so if you are going to the toilet at night you are forced to give it a little shove shut making a bit of a noise but otherwise I would definitely recommend this as a good and affordable location to stay."

"The staff, especially Reception and a young blonde-haired lady who had only been there about 3 weeks were exceptional. Having the bar & the restaurant on the top floor is a bit odd, but it is comfortable. The food in the restaurant was very poor as was the quality of the wine. The gentleman acting as Maitre was brusque, untidy and unwelcoming. We booked our table for 7 and were prompt. But he wanted us to have courses in rapid succession. When we asked for a pause his response was that it was already cooked so we needed to have it then. We were invited to look at the pudding menu at 8.15 and asked if we could please have a little break, bearing in mind that dining didn’t start until 7 pm. He told us if we wanted dessert we would have to order as the kitchen closed at 8.30. We declined pudding. This is supposed to be a 4-star hotel - and everything about it is 4-star. However, I would not give the dining room one star. Sitting in reception in the afternoon waiting for my friend to arrive, who was also staying at the hotel, I heard a lot of people going out to dine and booking Uber. I now know why. There were very few people- perhaps 6-8 dining at the hotel on Thursday evening, which speaks for itself. I felt very unwelcome, rushed and uncomfortable. When meeting friends to dine - it’s lively to chat and linger over each course. We were given an hour and a half to eat all 3 courses. Most of which were inedible anyway. Such a pity.
