Suzanne we enjoyed meeting you and Michael and hosting your stay. We had such friendly conversations and you were so concerned about Joe when he wasn’t feeling well on your 2nd night with us…..we surely didn’t know you didn’t like going up the stairs or having a guest room with a private detached bath. We did not get that feedback. The water issue happened at midnight on your 2nd night when you were sleeping. We had the well contractor in the next morning at 8 am who diagnosed the problem as a broken relay switch which was replaced and we had running water again 20 minutes later. We served you a very nice breakfast your 1st morning which was all organic and NonGMO. You had our place to hang out all day and enjoyed it after your sightseeing. You had a lovely meal downtown at Sarducci’s. As for our kitchen for sanitation reasons we do not have guests in there handling our utensils and opening refrigerator doors and using our scoop to get ice from our fridge. We do that for our guests as we sanitize our hands multiple times during the day. It gives everyone a higher confidence level about sanitation practices. After we asked you to not get ice with our hand scoop out of the freezer you chose to do that a second time again at which time I had to intervene and tell you again that we’ll get your ice for you. We told you upfront that we’d been in the middle of a renovation project with hardwood floors being sanded and refinished and all furniture had been moved to the front porch. The tragic flood happened in Montpelier July 10 so many requests came in for rooms and still are thus we had no time to complete our renovation project. As Fall Foliage guests are finishing up now we can allocate our time to organizing and putting back everything in its place. We explained that to you. We are sorry the water stopped running at midnight on your 2nd night. We offered to buy your breakfast at a local restaurant. You decided to get your breakfast so we let that be. We hope you had a good day after you checked out and are sorrybthatvyoubwere not pleased with your stay.

Thank you for your comments. As we stated the day you arrived we had just finished renovating the 1st floor - sanding and refinishing the cherry hardwood floors - and had to temporarily relocate many furnishings. The flood 3 miles away in Montpelier caused lodging in Montpelier to close temporarily so we received countless phone calls for bookings. We did not have free time to re-organize and put supplies and accessories away. We now have time with the busy Fall Foliage season over to finish this renovation project. Glad you liked your room and your breakfast. We really focus on a high quality Organic NonGMO Full Hot Cooked Breakfast - 2 courses, fresh and local when available. This is the number 1 compliment we receive from our guests - our hearty organic high quality breakfast. Also a top compliment we continually receive is about the guest room comfort in high quality mattresses, linens, design and views!

Hi Norbert. Thank you for your review. As we stated when you arrived, we had not completed a remodeling project of sanding and refinishing our 1st floor cherry hardwood floors. We had to move everything from the 1st floor out to the porches for the sanding/refinishing project. We were at the "mercy" of our contractor's schedules in Vermont....we have to take their scheduled time which had some contractor delays. It was beyond our control, So we are actively in the process of getting all relocated items back into cabinets, shelves, drawers, etc. We apologized for our appearance when you checked in. We explained the remodeling project. We enjoyed meeting you both and hope you had a good trip to New England for Fall Foliage. We also hope you had a safe journey back home to Germany. Thank you for your review even though it's very inaccurate. All guest room doors have locks on them as well as every guest bathroom. The items on the front porch were materials delivered for 2 guest bathroom upgrades which would be started as soon as Fall Foliage Season was over, We announced this upgrade plan to every guest who checked in. The upgrade materials were being stores where they were delivered - on the side porch, not the front porch. The only other items on the front porch were our potted herbs and floweing plants which we were covering every night to protect them from a frost, There were 3 former cars parked awaiting for us to donate them at Christmas time. Someone will be able to fix those cars and drive them. They go to people who can not afford a vehicle. They would not be in our yard very long, We apologize if any of these issues were a source of "bad energy or ambience". We feel its important to clarify this for our readers. Thanks for your review Ella. We enjoyed visiting with you and your partner. Yes we just completed our beautiful kitchen upgrade with quartz countertops, deep stainless steel sinks and Italian ceramic tile floors. We have been very busy with Fall Foliage season B&B guests and have not had time to get some of the items off to storage or given away. We apologized for the post construction appearance and actually got to storage the day you checked out. We are happy you enjoyed your views from your MountainView King room. You seemed to be enjoying yourself quite a bit here especially on the deck. As for baked goods.....our experience has been that the majority of the guests are not consuming the baked goods as they did in past years which I provided fresh and homemade daily. We decided that we'd provide fine store bought specialty cookies instead for those who like to have a sweet snack. Your breakfast was homemade 24 hour cultured yogurt from grass fed local cows, and fruit compote made with organic fruit, free range organic eggs, local bakery bread made with organic wheat from Quebec for toast, Amish butter, local cured bacon, orange juice from Florida, organic coffee roasted locally at the finest local artisan coffee roaster, and organic cream and sugar. We are very health conscious ourselves and wouldn't serve to our guests anything that we don't eat ourselves. We are happy that you booked with us and hope that if you stay with us again, you will be happy with the B&B and its fine furnishings and neatness!! Sorry for the post-construction when you were here.

You don't see any rooftops ,,,, just our evergreen forest, meadows, pond and mountains in the distance. We usually see deer at dawn and dusk as well as wild turkeys. It is a very peaceful setting. Thank you for your review. You stayed at our B&B a day or two after I, the Owner, fell and broke my right leg and right wrist. I was working on several sorting and organizing projects at our B&B to get ready for our busy Fall Foliage Season and accidentally fell that night. The projects were just underway, and I was hospitalized then in rehab for a total of 21 days. I hired 3 women to help us clean while I was in the hospital. They immediately removed my projects in process and prepared the B&B for our busy guest season in the Fall. We apologize that you were booked during this time. There were a couple of days after my injury and surgery that I made arrangements to have our B&B taken care of. We wish that I could've been present during the month of September so I could have done all the tasks I usually do at the B&B as Owner. You would have had a totally different experience and would've been very happy with your stay as many other guests through the years have.
