"We normally travel in a motorhome and don't stay in hotels much. But we had a short trip, so decided to stay at Spark by Hilton in Winchester, VA. We had stayed there before. The room was very nice but was surprised by the lack of a electrical outlet next to the bathroom sink for an electric toothbrush, etc. I really liked that the front desk texted me to see how our stay was going (nice touch). "The hotel smelled great as I walked in, like fresh laundry. It was decorated cheerfully & was welcoming. Front desk staff was friendly & efficient. I had completed some of my check in online, so jt was a breeze. The room looked clean at first glance, but hadnt been dusted. There was a towel smeared with red lipstick thrown beneath the sink. Bed & pillows were fluffy & comfortable. The grounds had cut wood for a bonfire, a nice picnic spot with a small grill, and cornhole boards. I didnt play...

"The hotel has a great setting for a traveler with a pet. There is a lawn in front and behind the building to walk a dog. Everything else is just awful. A toilet bowl with rusted spots, a dump floor, barely working wi-fi, broken safe, broken locks at the entries of the building… whoa, it is a shame to run such a poorly maintained facility for &100 +l"

"First room offered had powerful odours (pets?) and not acceptable. Alternative room was fine although all odd numbered rooms suffer road noise in morning rushour. Breakfast very nice for level of hotel."
