Gelegen op een goede plek dicht bij het centrum maar wel op een rustige plek. De kamer was ruim en leuk en modern aangekleed met vrolijke kleurtjes. Personeel was vriendelijk en alle benodigde faciliteiten waren aanwezig. Enige nadeel aan een kamer met parkview is dat het boven het terras zit waardoor je tot een uur of 1 ‘s nachts last kan hebben van muziek en het gepraat van de mensen buiten.

Quite expensive, a little pretentious but very comfortable, great location and excellent staff. Great location too.

This is my favourite hotel in Edinburgh. It’s luxury at a great price . I can never fault it Rooms are beautifully decorated. The staff are simply amazing in every way Highly recommend it - you will not regret it Thank you for another incredible stay

Edinburgh stay
I was up in Edinburgh for an exam. My room was quiet, minimal noise, dark at night. The bed (pillows and mattress) were perfect for me. I slept really well for the first time in months the night after my exam. It's stylish and clean. Had a wonderful stay, thank you. Also staff kibdly looked after my heavy suitcase and bag (full of books) after check out so I can get out and about without pulling heavy bags around.

Very disappointed
Sadly the stay did not live up to expectation. Upon arrival I didn’t get the room I had pre- paid for and my room had been down graded and the reason given was this was because I’d booked as a solo occupancy. The room wasn’t fit for purpose and left me with a sleepless night. The hotel manager accepted this was a failing on the hotels part and as the hotel was full I was given very little alternatives. Breakfast this morning was equally poor by being served a cremated sausage sandwich. Sadly this showed there is clearly a lack of quality process before food leaves the kitchen or simply a lack of pride by the chef. On a positive note the front of house team were polite and very friendly. I had planned my stay to celebrate my 60th birthday and left me extremely disappointed

Utrolig fint hotell. Både rommet og fellesarealene var nydelige. Sengen var knallgod. Bra trykk i dusjen, noe som ikke er en selvfølge på hotell. Servicen var utrolig bra. Bagasjen ble bært opp på rommet. Frokosten var deilig, og drinkene i baren var og veldig gode. Kommer garantert tilbake hit!

I choose a property with a lift as have bad knees. The lift only serves 1/3 property. This wasn’t made clear on the Expedia website. Receptionist clearly judged I could walk up two lifts despite asking to use the lift. No clearly defined reception area. Toothpaste all down the back of the en-suite door. No way of adjusting room temperature in your room. Old sash window nightmare to open to cool room. I had to stand on the dressing table and move mirror. To say I booked as a treat for myself just left feeling underwhelmed.

Unique stay in Edinburgh
Hotel was great, rooms spacious and well decorated. Friendly staff and great food. The only issue was the creaky water pipes, which made a lot of noise at night. It did not ruin the stay but the hotel needs to look into this.

Best night’s sleep.
Staff were all very helpful and friendly. Bed extremely comfortable. The breakfast was delicious, unfortunately I didn’t have enough time to linger over it, will make sure to next time though.

I stayed here because my daughter's apartment was within walking distance. It was the perfect choice and a great location with shops all around. The restaurant has good food, and the staff is very friendly. Do not book the park view rooms on a Friday or Saturday night because the bar and outside terrace noise is loud until 11 p.m. The rooms in the back are much quieter.

a super friendly staff! I forgot a camera, I called to ask and they told me that they already had it in safekeeping until I got back to the city (we left the hotel to make a trip to the highlands, they even kept our luggage safe) one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in!

God service og lækker morgenmad
Et rigtig hyggeligt lille hotel, med en skøn hemmelig dør. Vi havde bedt om værelser nær hinanden, fordi vi var en familie, der rejste sammen, men fik på hver sin etage, lige over hinanden. Det var lidt ærgerligt, men også det eneste negative vi har. Det ene gardin gik i stykker, mens vi var der og selvom det var sent om aftenen, kom de med det samme op og fiksede det. Simpelthen så god service. Området er rigtig rart og det er nemt at komme til centrum gennem en hyggelig park. Morgenmaden er frisklavet efter bestilling og rigtig lækker. Den skal I virkelig unde jer.

Black Ivy was a wonderful choice to stay in Edinburgh. The staff were top notch and the food was delicious. The room was so clean and cosy. Plus, the atmosphere in the restaurant was so trendy! I loved hanging out there. The staff went out of the way to help me out whenever I needed something or had a question. Special shout out to Craig the manager!

A little gem of a hotel in great location.
Really enjoyed our stay at Black Ivy. Beautiful inside and out and in great location. Probably the best breakfast I’ve ever had - all brought to you, even the drinks. Ordered porridge and it came freshly made with raspberries, blueberries and seeds. Perfect! The cooked breakfast was so good as well. Bedroom overlooked the park and was immaculate with an incredibly comfortable bed. Will definitely be back.

Great weekend break
Loved this hotel. Staff were super accommodating and the room was really comfortable. The music from the bar can be loud at night but it was tolerable.

Great area and great ambience. Restaurant has very good food and drink but it can get crowded and noisy on weekends. It’s a 15 minute walk through a park to center city but it’s a plus being out of the crowded noisier center. There is no safe in the rooms which I found odd and detracts from security. Otherwise it’s a wonderful boutique hotel within a short walking distance to a variety of good local restaurants

Mum and daughter first time trip
My daughter and I stayed in your hotel. This was our first trip together without any other family members. We had a Lovely greeting on arrival by a member of your staff who swiftly showed us to our room which was very pleasant. We had a very comfortable sleep and a delicious breakfast in the morning. Once again, your staff were delightful. This makes a world of difference and I really appreciated it. I worked in hospitality when I was a student and so realise the importance of being personable to visitors. We had a very positive experience together and in-fact I would love to return with my husband and son at some other point. Thank you so much for making our stay so special.
