Great location for visiting Coimbra. The staff were really helpful and the bonus of free parking was great for us. We enjoyed lovely views of the city while having a drink on the terrace.

We had a fantastic stay in the Sapentia. We were there for a week and got to know the local area well and built a nice relationship with the staff too. The Hotel is situated in great spot, some of the rooms have great views towards the river. The only issue is parking. The location is on a tiny street adjacent to the University. If you can, don’t have a car. If you do, prepare to have to move to about a bit potentially. The hotel helped us a lot and we managed ok, the car remained, miraculously,...

Location and size of Hotel fantastic for centre of Coimbra. Walking in the gardens you wouldn't believe you were so close to the city centre. Staff were excellent and very attentive.

We enjoyed our stay, friendly staff in reception, breakfast area and rooftop bar. Ines was helpful with lots of suggestions on local food and restaurants and gave good service. Hotel close to old town and river and the free bus to the railway station stops right outside the hotel. Room lovely, breakfast good. Would stay there again.

Room was spacious and clean, great value for money and the guy that runs it was very helpful and answered all emails promptly.
Just over the bridge from the old town and free parking in a multi story car park near by.

What a great stay...we only booked for one night but upon arrival we were so amazed that we asked right away if we could stay another night and so we cancelled the other hotel and changed our plans completely. The landlord was also such an amazing host. We could park our car in front of the hotel and we enjoyed an amazing breakfast next to the hotel. Perfect location with a perfect host and perfect stay. All in all, we are coming back

This is an extraordinary place just like the photo. I was greeted with sparkling wine and cake and offered the whole bottle the following day. It is in a very challenging place in old Coimbra so you need to be reasonably fit although another lovely lady walking her dog helped me out the next night when i was lost

Really impressed with our stay here. Central location and yet a very quiet and spacious, comfortable room. Loved the historic building and old furniture/pharmacy artefacts in the communal areas whilst the bedroom was modern, clean, quiet and with excellent air con which was needed! Staff were very helpful, including not only ordering us a taxi but also walking us to the meeting point (as the guesthouse is on a pedestrianised road) and waiting with us to check we got it.

We stayed in the Royal Suite which was very clean snd spacious with a wonderful large balcony.
The swimming pool and outdoor spaces were well maintained and clean.
The breakfast was fine, although the hot choices were very limited.
The hotel is located about 10 minutes from the centre of Coimbra in a nice quiet area.
We would definitely stay here again.

We got a really warm and helpful welcome. The location is perfect, a couple of minutes from the university complex. The room was super, breakfast was lovely. There is nothing to fault. We love this place.

Really very nice. Just outside the centre and old quarter but easy enough to walk. Parking isn’t private. It’s in the road but easy enough and close enough. I would say a very safe area.
Breakfast was on the roof terrace (or inside). Very nice. Decent enough selection. Continental style. Very nicely presented.
Room was fairly small but totally sufficient. Bed too hard for me but ok for my husband. We are all different. Very good pillows and linen. Very clean.
