Monkey's and birds were great...room was average. Could stand to clean construction debris from below the room. Beautiful environment around Ella...waaaay over developed! Alot of price gouging going on. I have no desire to return there. Thailand or Cambodia are much better deals from my experiences over the years.

The person that was in charge of everything was excellent ; his breakfast were superb as well as the attention to every single detail. About that, breakfasts were divine.

In the tree canopy with the monkeys
Ella green cottages is positioned right in the tree canopy and you can see monkey families coming to visit in the morning. The room was comfortable and clean and the shower got hot. We were given a generous and tasty breakfast and got good tips on walking to Ella rock in the morning. When we left we got outlet breakfast to go. Lovely place

Best spot in Ella !
I decided to extend my stay as soon as I arrived. Perfect place and the price is on point. I will definitely be back again and spend more time here at this wonderful place.

Perfect get-away!
Our stay at Ella Green Cottages was exactly what we were looking for! Enough away from the downtown with a quick walk down the train tracks to take in the vibe!

De dejligste store altaner, m smukke blomster og bekvemme møbler til at slappe af. Udsigt til jungle, hvor aber, egern og et væld af fugle kunne observeres. Værten var utrolig sød og hjælpsom, bl.a både m vasketøj og tuk tuk bestilling. Der blev serveret rigtig lækker og rigelig morgenmad på altanen, på det tidspunkt der passede gæsterne bedst.

Great scenery, spacious room with huge bathroom, balcony covered in greenery with birds and monkeys. Friendly stuff. Close to the Main road with tourist attractions.

Traumhafte Lage, Super Frühstück
Das Cottage liegt 10 Gehminuten vom Bahnhof entfernt und dicht am dem Weg zum liddle Adams Peak. Der Ausblick von Balkon ist direkt in den Urwald, einfach Traumhaft. Das Frühstück ist lokal, super lecker und sehr umfangreich. Wer ein europäisches Frühstück erwartet ist aber definitiv falsch. Das betrifft auch den fehlenden Kaffee, den es in Sri Lanka aber nie dazu gibt . Allerdings gab es Tee zum Frühstück. Die Ausstattung des Zimmers hatte alles was man braucht inkl. einer tollen Dusche (mit lustigen Motiven an den Fliesen) und einer europäischen Toilette. Allerdings hat das Zimmer ein Blechdach, in der Regensaison wird man kein Auge zumachen können. Angesehen davon hällt das Cottage alles was die Website verspricht und ist in der Trockenheit nur zu empfehlen. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Good view of monkeys in the morning
The room is basic, with a small attached bath. A mosquito net is provided. All the bedding smells damp and the bathroom does not have the best smell either. But the staff is wonderful, you can see monkeys outside the windows in the morning and it's close to the trail for Ella Rock. Getting into town is a quick 10min walk. Although there is a steep hill coming back. All and all not bad, but not the best either.

Si vous n'êtes pas un routard: FUYEZ !!!! Une cabane au fond des bois,des murs en béton marron,un toit En tôle,un cadenas à la porte,pas de réception,une dame qui surgit de nulle part quand vous arrivez,une descente à pic pour arriver à la cabane: impensable..... Seul point positif: Les singes si on aime...... Ne peut convenir qu'aux personnes qui pratiquent le camping de base. Tres Cher pour ce que c'est.....

Secluded and hidden forest getaway
The Ella Green Cottages are hidden along the skinny road that snakes uphill off the main road in Ella town and there is no formal reception area. However, the service that is given, once they get to you, is prompt and friendly! GREAT breakfast spread served every morning. Be sure to shower during the day as the hot water is sometimes not so strong and at night, it gets cold!

Majoitus oli hyvin perustasoa, huoneessa vain oleelliset tarpeet. Kävelyetäisyydellä juna-asemalta jos kulkee junarataa myöten, mutta päätietä kuljettuna pitää nousta mäkeä myöten hyvän matkaa ennen kuin mökit löytyvät. Majoituksesta teki ihanan omalle terassille ennakkotilauksesta toimitettu aamupala ja hyvin avulias henkilökunta, joka mm. pakkasi aamupalan meille mukaan paluun junamatkalle. Varsinaista respaa majoituksessa ei ole, joten henkilökuntaa on ajoittain vaikea löytää.

Lovely little cottage
Great little cottage in a fab location with a superb view of Ella rock from the private balcony. 5 mins walk from the busy Main Street this place was really quiet except for the sounds of the jungle outside and the occasional train passing by.

This hotel does not have a view but for us bird watchers, it was even better. We caught site of more birds thete than any of our rain forest trips. The woman was lovely and brought coffee to our house. Very sparse but clean and private. The steps down are steep.

la guesthouse est située tout en haut d un petit chemin (ascension musclée et assez longue), une fois arrivé, faut descendre (et remonter) quelques escaliers taillés dans la montagne assez hauts bref on est contents d être arrivés! la chambre est sommaire, vieillotte, la moustiquaire façon barbara cartland nous a bien plu:)) le plus, c est le balcon qui domine la forêt! un pur régal de regarder et écouter les animaux: on y a même vu des biches et faons!

The water pressure wasn't the best and it took a while till they made the internet work again but afterwards no complaints about the internet.The room and shower are fairly simple, I think it's overpriced for what you get but all in all I enjoyed the stay especially the breakfast on the balcony (good value!) with the monkeys. If you don't like wildlife, don't go there, though. Due to cracks in the roof and between the roof and the wall, we had two four legged visitors (gecko, mouse), which were harmless and stayed far away from us near the roof.
