"The Staff are wonderful, very friendly and welcoming 😊 ..........The property is full of character and old world charm with quirky uneven floors and walls, clean and comfortable rooms. The food was fabulous. Would definitely comeback to stay or if passing by call in for a bite to eat. The only thing that I would ask for is a room off the main road if possible as it gets quite noisy early in the morning. "

"Staff were very helpful especially carrying our bags to and from our room. The room was very clean and the bed was soft and extremely comfortable. The room was in the basement and there are steps but they are broken up not continuous so weren’t too problematic for some one with slight mobility issues. The music and noise from the bar ended at 11pm and we didn’t experience any noise from outside or other guests. "

"Exceptionally clean and comfy room, fresh bedding and towels available. Perfect location on the river, by the train station with just a 5 minute walk to the city centre. We stayed in room 1 and had a lovely view of the river on the morning, hotel was quiet, warm and comfortable. Martyn assisted with great communication telling us everything we needed to know prior to getting to the guest house, check in and check out was simple and easy. "The rooms were comfortable and very clean. Lovely to have a fridge in yhe room. Staff were very helpful & friendly. A lovely one night stay whilst attending a wedding party. £5 parking fee, not excessive but no mention about this when booking. Might as well just add £5 to the room rate and not have those unsightly signs everywhere. "

"The room is simply and beautifully decorated. Very clean and the hotel provides lots of different types of beverages and snacks. Staff are friendly, helpful and accommodating. The location of the hotel is close to interesting sight seeing spots. Very convenient."

"Nice friendly welcome from the gentleman working the bar on arrival Thursday 23rd October around 2pm, booked in and explained about breakfast, evening meals, on-site parking and what was happening at the pub over coming days. Shown to our room which was nice and bright, very clean and comfortable. The building dates from the 1700s so expect uneven floors and squeaky floor boards and lots of character in a nice way and things that catch your eye. Beautifully dressed for Halloween.
