"I am so glad to have stayed at the Troya Hotel Balat. It is a charming hotel (and restaurant) with a fascinating history, and Balat is a fascinating neighborhood. The hotel is run by Semiha Huzmeli (who speaks excellent English) and her family. I enjoyed speaking with her in the mornings and I equally enjoyed the greetings from the staff every evening upon my return. The hotel is right on the Golden Horn, and I loved the view of the water. "I enjoyed my stay very much. The staff was attentive and polite. I had the deluxe Turkish bath at the on site hammam and it was amazing. The massage therapist treated me like a queen. Both nights I had dinner at the restaurant and enjoyed the food. The breakfast buffet had what seemed like an unlimited selection of breads, cheeses, fruits. There was also hot foods that were different both days. I will definitely return the next time I visit Istanbul."
