"Fantastic place to stay! The front desk staff could not have been more friendly, helpful, and informative. We absolutely adored our stay there, and I can’t wait to return. Try to get room 17. It’s beautiful, and like traveling back in time to another century. The bathroom was fit for royalty. "

"We had an apartment. The apartment block as a whole seemed freshly decorated, as was our room; which was also equipped to a high standard. The main hotel was well presented. All staff were very welcoming and helpful. Excellent breakfasts. Hotel is really well situated for the centre of Salisbury. Bit of confusion regarding the car park as there is a public car park on Brown Street, which is separate from the hotel car park. We were on the top floor, which had no proper wardrobe, probably due to the sloping ceiling, just a short hanging rail. The apartments on the lower floors more likely to have a wardrobe. We had specifically requested a high floor and it was certainly adequate for our 2 night stay."

"Excellent 2 night stay at the Hare and hounds. Such a lovely well presented pub and very nicely decorated rooms, Our room was named "The Flying Duck" and it was perfect. We ate in the restaurant on the first night and the food was amaizing. Breakfast both mornings was fab and fresh Its an easy 20 minute walk into Newbury but if walkings not your thing its a short drive with lots of pay and display parking in the town centre. On the topic of parking loads of free parking in the carpark at the rear of the property whilst your at the pub, space was never an issue for our stay. Perfect location in our opinion with easy access to the newbury bypass and the A34 to Oxford. Would deffo recommend this property for a night or 2 if you want to explore the area."

"Very comfortable hotel. Lovely location 5 min walk to cathedral. Room was a bit warm for our liking, as it was a top floor room and we had sunny weather. Dinner was excellent, breakfast was okay."

"We enjoyed our one night stay however feel there are improvements that would enhance the experience. Breakfast was nice with a good selection and welcoming staff. The welcome wine was a generous touch at check in. The outdoor pool is great however would be improved with keeping the area tidy and organised when guests have left their towels and drinking glasses behind. I found it really unpleasant using the steam room when I noticed a plaster on the floor amongst many hairs, the next day the plaster was still on the floor and proved the steam room had not been cleaned, the sauna was also covered in hairs on the floor. Shame as the facilities were lovely but needed cleaning. I was surprised no slippers were available in the rooms with the robes. Also the water dispenser had not been replenished so on exiting the sauna there was no water available. It felt very low standards that the basics had not been seen to. Check in at 4pm also seems quite late. The room was nice enough for what we needed for a night however if staying longer there’s no wardrobe to unpack, just some coat hooks on the wall. The hotel is great for a night and if you’re lucky with good weather to enjoy the outdoor pool. Although we felt some areas needed improvement we did have a really good time and thought the young staff were very friendly and helpful. "

"This hotel is just fantastic. Plenty of parking , spacious clean room with plenty of coffee/tea milk and fluffy towels . The location is brilliant for the new forest and beaches . There is an Indian restaurant next door which is delicious. The hotel has a microwave and plates cutlery si you can heat up your own food or left overs from the curry . I have had the most relaxing weekend break at this hotel and cannot recommend this highly enough . "

"The good breakfast was stop on. Good quality and well cooked. Very friendly staff. The hotel needs a good clean and refresh - everything was a bit dirty. This was a real shame because this place has so much potential. Charge a bit more and get the standards up. Parking is not a problem - very cheap pay for parking a two minute walk await. Good selection or draft in bar. Some nice restaurants within walking distance."
