"The hotel is located ideally...it is steps from the train station and a close walk to the old part of town. What threw my wife and me was that we planned to drop off our bags with the bellman so that we could return our rental car at Geneva Airport. However, we learned that not only is there not a bellman, but there is not a front desk person on weekends. We were parked in front of the hotel on a street which does not allow parking trying to communicate with a person in Geneva about how to access our room. Finally, we learned that someone from Base was planning to work that day for an hour starting at 2 pm. Accordingly, we parked the car in a garage, waited for 2 pm and then were able to check in.
The property is quiet notwithstanding its location right above the street. It was impeccably clean throughout. had a great shower and comfy bed. I would stay again now that I am familiar with Base's check in procedures....."
"Lovely friendly welcome. Accessible lift for me & my mobility aid to reception. A bit disappointed that all the tables in the restaurant were booked for dinner. We were able to eat on the patio but it was right next to the passing traffic. Room had a fabulous view. (I paid for an upgrade). Bathroom could do with a decent walk in shower."
"We had a pleasant stay at Hotel Le Lac. The hotel was nice enough, and the staff were welcoming.
Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice, and the dining room was particularly impressive — very elegant and beautifully presented.
Overall, it was a nice hotel with a great breakfast, although the room décor felt a little tired and would benefit from an update. Unfortunately, there was no air conditioning, which wasn’t ideal during the heatwave we experienced."
"We were only staying overnight as we travelled to family in Switzerland. The hotel is well appointed, self parking available and a beautiful view. The complimentary water in the fridge was appreciated.
Breakfast was of a good standard and the staff were all very helpful and efficient"
"The rooms were very clean and the staff were very pleasant and friendly. The hotel already had a restaurant and the train station is right in front, what more can you ask. "
