Redwood-rimmed and quaint, this logging town offers a gateway to ancient forests and coastal adventures. Stroll Main Street's charming shops, then head to nearby Humboldt Redwoods State Park for awe-inspiring hikes among nature's skyscrapers.
We spent 2 very comfortable nights here and the king bed was very comfortable with a choice of soft and hard pillows. Pool and jacuzzi also good. It overlooks the river and is in a good position, just off the highway but no noise. Good bar and restaurant only 100m.

Friendly staff, clean and comfy bed, easy access to the freeway with a gas station within a few yards from the hotel, make this a value for money deal compared to the one in Arcata

A hidden gem. From the road an unobtrusive and steep driveway leads up to the house and outbuildings where I was warmly greeted by the proprietor, a proud Dane. Standing on this steep slope the Victorian town of Ferndale is glimpsed through the trees below you. The accomodation was above a garage area.and I was surprised by the size of the lounge area. Furnished in a homely country style throughout that demonstrated the owners Danish heritage it featured a spotlessly clean and well furnished...

The Gingerbread mansion in Ferndale is like a fairytale that has to be seen to be believed. Immaculate Victorian decor from another magnificent era is presented in all 11 bedrooms. Afternoon tea greets you on arrival and the home cooked breakfast is right out of the top drawer, not to mention the breadth of home baked muffins and pastries you can take on the go. We saw this place by chance, but will now find reasons to go there deliberately. Thank you for the experience.

Very friendly and helpful staff at reception, rooms look newly refurbished and are very comfy! Loved the Starbucks pods in the rooms.
Breakfast was a good range and great to have a selection of fresh fruit too.
Didn’t use pool area but it looked well maintained and relaxing.
Easy stroll into the old town with plenty of restaurants to choose from!
Would definitely recommend and stay there again!

We enjoyed our stay. There are a couple of people who deserve a special mention. The ladies who were taking care of the breakfast buffet. It was VERY busy and the worked very hard to keep everyone fed and the place clean. Thank you to Merced and Luz Elaina and the cooks.
