I love this hotel but on my most recent stay there was extreme elevator chaos. We needed to catch a flight and were stuck on the 9th floor with heavy bags!
Every elevator was filled with frustrated people packed like sardines asking us not to enter because the elevator was too heavy and would stall. After 20 minutes of waiting (11 people ahead of us) I came up with a workaround... I left my partner with our bags and walked down to the ground floor. It was easy to get an "Up" elevator at 7am, so I took the elevator up to the 9th floor where my partner was able get on with our bags. We then continued up to the top floor, where we had effectively skipped the line. We then went down, floor by floor. The elevator was soon full, but stopped at every floor where we saw the frustrated people who were trying to depart for their flights.
I stay at the Sheraton the night before a flight as a buffer in case of issues with Deutche Bahn. I didn't realize I needed a buffer against elevators at the Sheraton.
