"I had one of the worst hotel experiences at Golden Nugget Lake Charles. The staff was rude and unprofessional. I went to the swimming pool with my room key and towels, clearly a guest, but because I didn’t have my ID with me, they told me I shouldn’t be there. I have never felt so humiliated in my life. On top of that, the room lacked basic amenities like a microwave and freezer, which was very inconvenient. In contrast, I’ve had a much better experience at L’Auberge Casino Resort Lake Charles—the difference in service is night and day. After this experience, I would definitely choose L’Auberge over the Golden Nugget."

"The people here double park they keep you up all night with all the drugs and drinking. It’s a horrible place to stay. There are nails all in the parking lot. I can’t count how many I picked up. They will raise your rate $10-$15 a night once you arrive as well as a $50 deposit do not stay at this room this will not be enjoyable. Stay. In my room with some reason infested with fleas "

"Kodey got us checked in and even tried to help get my co worker into a handicap accessible room, which we very much appreciated. The hotel needs to be refreshed. You can tell the pipeliners have used and abused it. My room had staples in the walls and ceilings from blocking the room off with plastic, probably from a previous leak. There was a thermostat on the wall but it didn't control anything. The room was clean overall though. My only real complaint is that we were both charged $5.51 for a parking fee that was not included or disclosed by expedia and was never disclosed by double tree at check in or check out. Still waiting for these charges to fall off after calling the hotel and them agreeing to reverse the charges."

"This was a horrible experience from start to finish. The owners were rude, dismissive and short with me. On top of that ourAC was broke and there was no one in the front to report it to, and in the morning when I told him the AC was broke he didn't care. When I went into the room initially and told him it wasn't working he said give it ten minutes. That man knew it wasn't going to work, then he gave me my deposit back as if he was doing me a favor. Then he told us were to park and we ended up being blocked in. I was also very itchy and something was biting me as I slept. Don't go here unless it's a last resort "
