"I recently stayed at this hotel, now operating as Opulence, and unfortunately the experience did not match the price being charged. I arrived right at the 3 PM check-in time and still waited about 40 minutes because there was only one employee working the front desk while multiple guests arrived at once. The process was very slow, and payment issues with other guests caused even more delays.
The property feels very run down and in need of major maintenance and updating. The lobby entrance is small and crowded, and the washroom near the lobby in the basement which felt dark and unpleasant.
My room was okay overall, and the bedding at least appeared clean, which I appreciated. However, the old lino flooring had uneven spots that felt like tripping hazards, and several furnishings were stained, worn out, or dirty. Even the lamp had visible stains on it, which made the room feel neglected.
The hotel also desperately needs cosmetic updates. A fresh paint job, newer flooring, and even some artwork or decor would make a huge difference and help the place feel more welcoming.
The location and view were decent, but for the nightly rate, I expected a much better maintained property and smoother experience. Right now it feels more like a budget motel being priced as a hotel."
