Our stay started with a very uncomfortable check-in experience. We were approached by a man who claimed to be a concierge but clearly was not. He told us the hotel had been taken over by a “new company” and that because we booked through Expedia, we missed a special promotion. After a long sales pitch and a staged attempt to “add” offers to our reservation, he claimed we were approved for a $100 gift card and a free future stay—but only if we attended a 90-minute presentation. Despite being told the presentation was optional, it was clearly a timeshare pitch. We declined.
The stay itself was acceptable until the third night, when we discovered cockroaches in the kitchenette. After stepping on a large one, several more scattered under the cabinets when the lights were turned on.
Shortly after that, all elevators stopped working, forcing us to walk multiple flights of stairs from the lowest level of the parking garage to our fourth-floor room.
When we complained, we were told no refund would be given for the roaches or the broken elevators. We were also told we would be charged an additional $150 for not attending the “optional” presentation. The front desk stated she could issue a partial refund but refused to do so, and incorrectly claimed the hotel was clearly advertised as a timeshare, which it was not.
I would not stay here again.
