"This is a mixed review. The place is very clean. The staff were really nice and attentive. The food and service were excellent. We ate at the cafe, Bonnie moon beach, Catalina and drinks at Pom Pom.
Restaurants:
Bonnie moon was decent beach food, the drinks were good and service was very attentive.
Catalina was delicious and service was 5 stars. Only complaint was the prices
Pom Pom had an amazing view and the drinks were great
Rooms were very clean and the staff did a great job of making the rooms and communicating when the do not disturb sign was on. They will make your room up to 5 pm
Hotel was very clean throughout. Both Pools were clean as well as the hot tub. Plenty of parking much of it is indoor. They have a decent gym.
The cons:
Hotel is beach adjacent. Not a very far walk and they do provide a shuttle service but it’s good to know.
There is a 75 dollar a day resort fee
They charge a refundable 1050 dollar deposit for incidentals ( this is not optional)
My main complaints
I am pretty sure I reserved a beach view and was provided a harbor view room. I asked about an upgrade (which I was willing to pay for) and was told the hotel was full. There is no way this place was full
We asked for late check out and again were told the hotel was full and could not be accommodated. We were told they could hold our bags til check out but this would not resolve our issue. Hotel seemed empty. Manager called 30 min before check out with the options. Too late."
"My stay (May-June 2026), was most relaxing and enjoyable. The rooms are clean & spacious with enough room to accommodate a wide range of guest configurations (which make them economical) and offer different seating options (which make them comfortable) during non-sleeping times. The staff are friendly, efficient and very helpful, whether you are speaking to front desk, wait staff or the cleaners. I chose the inclusive daily breakfast option which has enough choice for most guests. However, there are more paid food and enhanced coffee options available, to suit the more demanding guest. Centrally located in Seven Mile stretch, close to the beach (5 min walk), large towels available, side pool area with loungers, and an ice cream shop on the ground level. A range of dining options are minutes away or the location hosts BBQ evenings with entertainment as well. Transportation is best by small public buses for 2$KY and take you most places. Will stay here again and again."
"I honestly don’t have a complaint about anything. The entire property is kept VERY CLEAN, the location is great to Governor’s Beach, and the staff is polite and helpful.
If I HAD to give one criticism, I was disappointed that Governor’s Village did not honor their word when they stated they would give me a complimentary early check-in. I made arrangements ahead of time for an early check-in, and I paid in advance for it as well. I emailed Governor’s Village in advance and explained that I would be staying at their property for my 50th birthday. I asked them if I could have a complimentary free early check-in if possible as a birthday “freebie”. I told them if they could do that, then awesome! However, if not, no problem! I’m not the type of person that feels something like that is “owed” to me. It was explained to me that if the early check-in was available, the fee that I paid would be credited back to me.
The fee was never credited back to me. Again, I’m not mad. Just disappointed. Governor’s Village clearly told me they would grant a complimentary early check-in for my milestone birthday, but no follow through. I’m a big believer in someone following through with their word. If a person or business states they are going to do something, then do it.
I do not want the money credited to me now. If you credit it to me now, it is just because I mentioned it in this review and you want to look favorable to people reading this review.
Keep the money."
The Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa
6/10 Okay
"I’m comparing it to the Palm Heights and the Ritz Carlton, so it may not be fair. It was a louder place with loud people. Bands playing in the lobby at night. Bar filled with people. Lots of families.
Not my usual stay so I wasn’t impressed."
The Reef Beach Resort - All Inclusive - East End, Grand Cayman
10/10 Excellent
"We stayed here for a week in the 2 bedroom condo with our teenagers, we all loved this place! The food was amazing and the staff was super amazing. After a day, they get to know you and converse with you, remember your orders, etc. It is very quiet there. The rooms are clean and beds are comfortable!
The only things we did not like:
There is only one bar and it is not close to the big pool. They also do not have servers around the pool so you have to walk back and forth and the frozen drinks are halfway melted before you’re back and ice in the cups are melted.
The big pool needs to be cleaned more thoroughly and frequently (still nice and used it everyday, don’t get me wrong).
The resort next door has a built up of seaweed or something up around the beach and the smell was rough.. so we just stayed at the bigger pool further away from it.. They were working on getting it cleaned up though.
Regardless of the 3 downfalls, we will be back in the Spring!!"
"This was the second time I stayed here. The only negative thing I could say at all is that there is not enough beach space (chairs) to just sit, however, my family was visiting Grand Cayman for the snorkeling, not the sun bathing. We patiently waited for a chair to place our towels and belongings on, while swimming in the sea, we were happy."
"The resort is nice for the value. We had to have our room changed twice because the first room smelled horrible and the second room didn't give us the view the first room gave us. The third room was miserable!!! We got the nice view.. but the ac didn't work. My husband has a medical condition that the ac not working definitely didn't help!! The fan buzzed the entire time and literally only pushed hot air around. Since we were there a limited time it didn't make sense to change rooms again. The restaurant was a little pricey, the beach I wouldn't get in and the activities weren't available. This wouldn't be a first choice hotel for me in the future. The staff wasn't very accommodating and that made the frustrations heightened."
"Cobalt Resort was exceptional. My room and the view directly in front of the water which was perfect. Also, the staff was prompt and very helpful, being able to contact them via direct message was much appreciated. I needed to recharge and this stay helped me accomplish that and then some. Also the food in the onsite restaurant Nova was incredible."
