I’ve stayed at The G Kelawai many times for business, I usually stay one to two weeks at a time. The employees have a great attitude and make you feel welcomed. This morning I had a very unpleasant experience during checkout, frankly I couldn’t believe it.
I originally booked an executive room for one week on the G’s website, then I decided to book a second week and this time Hotels.com had a better deal. So I booked it through them instead, paying up front for the second week. The hotel informed me I would need to get a new set of keycards for my second week, no big deal… I switched them out and enjoyed the second week. Upon check out this morning the manager James informed me I did not pay for my first weeks stay, and that I owed the hotel $4600 ringgits and he was extremely rude and when I tried to explain to him I needed to check my credit card, he again rudely interrupted me and talked right over the top of me. I attempted to show him my credit card statement, he wasn’t having it. In a lobby with other customers and employees James treated me like a criminal. I was extremely upset with his behavior and actions. I informed James, I would give him my credit card but if I find out I was double charged that I would file a claim report against him.
After staying in this hotel more than 15 years I have decided my two week visit in January will be at a different hotel.
