"The hotel was very clean including public places. The breakfast buffet was extensive and very good - an extra cost but worth it. Most staff were very friendly and helpful but came across one desk clerk that may have been having a bad day and was unfortunately very rude for no apparent reason - who knows. Otherwise I would have rated the hotel a perfect 5 out of 5. "

"The Shangri-La was amazing got our 3 night stay. The location is excellent, the hotel is beautiful and our room has a tremendous view of the Harbour. The staff were very friendly. There was a bit of construction noise during our spa treatments but everything else including our dine-in breakfast was perfect."

"Decent room although a couple of small details - broken wardrobe door that did not slide smoothly and a stain on the curtain - were a slight negative. Staff all super nice and the location is great."

"This Hotel is ideally located close to Central station. Art Deco in design. It has been upgraded to a point. Bathroom was in excellent condition. The room is small. The old furniture needs to go. Put fresh doors on the wardrobe. I loved that it was clean , no smells and quiet. "

"Room was flithy. Spent over an hour cleaning it upon arrival. Stains/burn holes in carpet. Bedroom smelled. Bathtub had blk hair in it. Pool smelled like algae and colour looked off. No communication that u need to get to this hotel by going over the LRT tracks into a parking garage, up a lift 2 the 4th floor, walk through the parking garage into a walkway over a street & then buzz to be let into the 2nd floor, walk to another lift, down a floor and finally check in at the reception. ALL WHILE LUGGING YOUR LUGGAGE!!!! Same process to exit hotel everday when going out somewhere."

"Room was good , bed were comfy , but air con was dripping water off the outlet due to the filters being dirty I’d say , looking in the vent where the filter was in looked really dirty , got dripped on as you walked past the outlet vent "

"Fantastic hotel in central Sydney. Easy to get to from the airport and close to all city highlights. Staff were excellent, the room was large, clean, and very comfortable. Very good value for money. Will definitely stay again and would recommend to others."

"On our 1st full day after checking in, we left and hanged the request for housekeeping sign on the door handle. When we returned, we found a stranger's pair of socks on our pillow! We called the reception requesting for a change of pillows and complained about what happened. The manager called after a few hrs, offering a change of room on a different floor but at this point, it was already late a night and we had an early day trip the nxt morning. The following evening, we received wine & chocolates, with a letter of apology (saw a previous review stating that they were given wine & chocolates upon check in) Aside from this, the tv was not working at all. It just showed a black screen when switched on. We asked the reception for help regarding this but they never came. Breakfast buffet was mediocre and we spotted a cockroach where the plates are placed. Very unhygenic! Staff at the Eve's bar were the only ones commendable. A below average hotel, definitely wont come back. It's a mystery how they got their 4-star rating. The only good point of this hotel is it's location."
