"The rooms are filthy and haven’t been cleaned in years properly. Dirt on floors, marks on beds with mould in the shower & bathroom. It was like staying at faulty towers. When I checked in to a room adjoining that had been painted the day before & said I couldn’t stand the strong paint smell, he said come across the hall - I thought that might be the case. The windows were wide open, no fly wire & was dirty & dingy. When I called Expedia to ask for a refund or to move rooms they called the hotel...

"Dirty, neglected and far below basic hotel standards
We stayed 3 nights in September (Standard Room, Multiple Beds, 3 adults). I travel a lot and I know what to expect from a budget hotel, but this is one of the worst places I have ever stayed.
- We checked in at midnight to a dirty room with unmade bed and had to make them ourselves. Nobody came in the following days either.
- Mattresses and duvet were visibly dirty.
- The fridge smelled so bad it made us nauseous.
- The shower was filthy,...

"Great hotel, well placed near a mall. Up the road from some tasty eateries, and very close to public transport.
The converted prison grounds it's located in resemble a medieval castle, but the hotel itself is modern and cozy.
A car will get you into the CBD considerably faster than rail, but the tram line stops right near the zoo, and then the Queen Victoria Market. I ended up using it extensively with no issues."

"Our stay was fine and recommended if you have an early flight . We ate in the restaurant and the service was very quick . My only complaint would be that there’s a night light in the bathroom which can’t be turned off. The doors to the bathroom opened at the middle so the light filters through . Unfortunately I like a room that is completely dark to sleep ."
