There was no staff on the premises, and upon arrival the door to our room was left wide open. While I was inspecting the room, another guest exited his own room, walked directly past me, and entered our room. At first, I assumed he was the host, but he briefly entered and returned to his own room. This interaction was unsettling and made us feel unsafe.
We later noticed pubic hair in the toilet, leading us to believe this guest may have been using our bathroom prior to our arrival. This raised serious concerns about cleanliness, privacy, and security.
The host later explained the guest was staying an additional night, believed the room was unoccupied, entered to “take a look,” and then booked it for the following night. However, the guest was already settled in his room before we arrived, and we checked in well past check-in time, meaning he had ample opportunity to access the room earlier.
We have no way of knowing if the room was accessed before our arrival, if items could have been removed and we blamed, or if hidden cameras could have been installed. The host stated it was an “honest mistake” and offered only a downgraded room, with no compensation for the inconvenience.
The bed was extremely firm and uncomfortable. Overall, this experience fell far below expectations, and I would not stay here again.
