"We had a great stay in La Grande Motte and were pleasantly surprised by the destination, with lovely architecture, trees, and bike paths. The hotel is close to the Etang du Ponant, making for a really nice setting. The bungalows have been renovated, spacious, with comfortable beds, and the air conditioning worked well, though it was positioned right above the bed, so we felt it blowing on us all night. "Excellent location. I was expecting a water view room and yes you can hear water lapping but, unfortunately, trees prevent anything more than the merest of glimpses of it (1st floor level). No AC so can only imagine how hot the room would have been during this years heat waves. We had some unexpected guests in our room - hundreds of midges and a lizard and were advised these are to be expected and to keep the patio doors closed - too warm for this.
