"We had a really disappointing experience with Powhatan Motel. After driving 16 hours on a long road trip, we arrived around 3am expecting to check in, since the motel clearly advertises a 24-hour front desk and check-in availability after 4pm. Unfortunately, that was not the case. There was no one available at the front desk, no way to check in, and no communication whatsoever from the property. "Staff was wonderful but the lack of cleanliness really took away from our stay. I bought cleaning supplies and cleaned the room, scrubbed the surfaces that were covered in a film and dust. I bought extra sheets and covered all the linens, they smelled and were horribly stained. If they get the housekeeping under control - this would be a great place. "

"Rooms are spacious and very clean. Property are so well kept. We didn’t partake in the breakfast (through I fault of the hotel we had to leave), but it’s so nice it’s offered!! Staff was polite and informative! "

"Breakfast was supposed to be from 7-10 At 8 am there was one sausage left a half cup of coffee and cold cereal We did find a very nice restaurant for breakfast just 3 minutes away "

"The lady at the front desk was wonderful. Very kind and helpful. The room, however, had several strands of long brown hair (I have 1 inch long brown hair lol) and was generally unclean. Breakfast the next day was not out anywhere near the 6.a.m time (I was there at 6:30), and the lady who I assumed was responsible for breakfast that morning was passed out on the couch in the lobby. "

"Absolutly disgusting. I checked in last night and the kid had no idea what was going on. Follow that up with the room was disgusting, I had no towels or toilet paper, and soon after gwtting here there was no body in the office to assist. Long story short I went to the office this morning to get toilet paper and wasnt even asking for a refund just letting the gentleman know my experiance and all he had to say is "just so you know youre not getting a penny back". Worst customer service i ever...

"Yes, however I did see what I would like to think were ants while sitting in the easy chair in the corner. One was crawling on my wrist, the other on the book I was reading. Needless to say, I didn't sit in the seat anymore."
