We stay here every year for the weekend after the Ausable Canoe Marathon. The cabin is clean with cute decor. Right on the water! Beautiful beach. The kids love it. Hidden gem

We will definitely be staying there again! Staff is very friendly. The cabins are definitely older & they are in process of updating them. The 2 suggestions we have is to include in their resort details that the cabin rentals do not include towels- currently that is not stipulated. (It says towels included). Also to instruct the staff on appleTV. This system is very new to all of them and us & could not get our TV to work. We were ok with that because we spent more time outside but some guests may not be so happy. Thank you Stefan’s R& R Resort! We enjoyed our stay! The beach was fabulous!

Beautiful place for a family getaway!

This was a beautiful place to stay for a weekend family getaway! We loved the cabin we stayed in and the beautiful views of the water. It was awesome to be able to get up in the mornings and walk to the beach. We will definitely be coming back to stay here in the future!

We stayed in one of the suites on the water. The view was amazing, we watched our first moon rise! The staff were all very friendly. Our room was great, my only complaint would be there is to much furniture in the room, we wanted to use the cute fire place but the tv table covered half of it. We would defiantly stay at Stephan's R&R Resort again!

Was supposed to be a cabin, ended up being a suite, it was dirty upon arrival. Had to ask someone to come and sweep and mop. New bed sheets and towels and wash cloths. View was beautiful and I loved that.

The room was cleaned before closing for the winter but had not been touched since. Cobwebs everywhere even on the furniture. The fireplace was hard to light but he had someone come light it for us. Nice location we stayed right on the beach. I wished I would have known to bring towels. Overall decent for the price.

Check in was 4:00 P..M, Gave us the key, walked in, and had not been cleaned or stocked. Sand on the coach, no towels, cloths, soap, shampoo, dish cleaner, nothing. They were fine with refunding the expedia account.

This property was established in 1993. Unfortunately, it appears that basic maintenance stopped about a decade ago. There were no towels in the room. None of the beds were made. The linens provided had stains on them. They were stains on the couch. There was a very nice television With no operating channels because it was not connected to the Internet. I’m sure this was a once a spectacular property, but with the lack of maintenance it just appears to be run down and in need a bunch more than a coat of paint.

Not worth the money

Couldn't check in until 4 pm description of the place said toiletries included did not tell you they don't provide towels bathroom soap 1 ply toilet paper beds unmade no closet doors bungee corded refrigerator no fire pit broken furniture broken blinds in one bedroom which took two calls and four hours of our one night stay RUDE management....will never recommend this place to anyone!!

Unfortunately this resort is in need of major updating. In the Expedia description it said 4 queen beds. And actually came with 5 separated DOUBLE beds. Way smaller than a queen bed! The bathroom had the hot water heater right next to the toilet! Which didn't matter much since there was no hot water for the tiny shower. No lock on the bathroom door either, or the latch to shut it. The area is beautiful!! Just needs some updates. Has an old school 28 inch (ish) bubble tv. With 1 channel. I was highly disappointed in the stay. It was highly expensive for the condition of the cabin.

Beach area was very nice. Cabin 13 we stayed in was awful. Filthy. Rusty exposed hot water heater in the middle of the gross bathroom. None of us even attempted to use shower. When we first walked into the cabin we noticed right away it hadn’t been cleaned. Used tissues on couch. Bedding all a mess. Dishes in sink. Front desk apologized and did send someone to clean it up. But after that it took 3 tries to get clean linens the correct size for the beds. Finally gave up on that. We spent as much time as possible outside. Thankfully it was a beautiful weekend. Only reason I am writing this review is so that no one else has to experience this.

I stayed at this property about 20 years ago. They have suites in a small motel type building that were very nice at the time. We opted for one of their almost 20 cottages on the property this trip. The first cottage they put us in was a little disappointing. The only heat source was a small gas fireplace that we had to have maintenance come and start for us. Then the tv wasn’t working on the rainy day that we arrived. They got us another cottage and it was much better! More room, working tv and heat/ac! I wondered why they didn’t put us in one of those to begin with for the amount of money we spent for three nights on a holiday weekend! Maintenance was on it though without a long wait. The best part of the entire property is the Location!!! They have their own private beach on Lake Huron with swings and a play set for the kids and fire rings to have a fire on the beach if you want. Overall worth the money! It’s beautiful and peaceful at night and the owners have had this property since 1993! It’s a beautiful location is great for a weekend getaway.

We booked last minute and had no expectations, but were blown away when we got there. The manager was ready and waiting for us, with our cabin unlocked and ready (perfect contactless check-in). The cabin we stayed in was small and a bit dated, but it was clean and had everything we needed for a nice stay. We were just a short walk from the beach... and WHAT A BEACH! It was beautiful. We brought beach chairs from home, but we didn't need them. There was plenty of lounge chairs for everyone. All in all, this was a wonderful place for us to stay. We are already planning to book again next year and stay for longer.

Upon arrival, the ceiling was heaving, the grill had fresh food debris on it, trash overflows from the kitchen waste basket, there was urine in the toilet, the TV was from the 1990s, the beds had been slept in, and the place reeked of mold. We cancelled right then and were still charged.

Had trouble on road wasn’t able to check in until 1:00am. Was told room would be ready with keys available. Arrived and keys were where they said they where. Rooms where far from ready. WALKED INTO ROOMS TO FIND MOUSE POOP ALL OVER FLOORS, FURNITURE, IN CABINETS, AND DRAWERS. Only thing clean seemed to be bedding. Tried to get refund from management with no success all they would do was clean room and offer a free night some other time. Tried for refund through hotels.com no help from them either. No going to try credit card company.
