"1) Checkin details were not provided - I had to contact Hotels.com and wait ±1hr outside in the windy street to get these. Checkin was 4pm but I couldnt get in until 90 mins later.
2) Once inside the building; Entrance hall filthy with full black bags in corner, wall staining, filthy carpets, laundry cages strewn. No-one around at all, felt very unsafe.
3) Once inside the flat, it felt like someone had just left in a rush, but I couldnt be sure until I had gone through the apartment. Spooky....

"Very, very steep stairs to the apartment. Spacious with 2 separate rooms. Microwave, toaster and air fryer but no oven or hob. Not enough cutlery/crockery. No tea towel! I'd say not very well equipped. "

"No issues with the stay, complimentary butter, Jam and milk in the fridge. Along with sugar, tea, coffee and biscuits. Even had washing powder. Only issue was when sat on the sofa there was no table to put your drinks on, I ended up using a waste paper bin turned upside down. In the bathroom the glass shower door you can’t open so have to get in at the far end of the bath and walk down the bath, with the water on this gets slippery so could do with a bath mat."

"Immaculate and beautiful cottage (we stayed in Barley) with all home comforts. Access to a gorgeous swimming pool and gardens. The location in the hamlet of Water Newton is stunning and gorgeous walks through the countryside are abundant.
This isn’t a conventional self catering arrangement because the owners live on site and the cottages have a share with permanent residents. This means that you can’t invite friends or family over in daytime or evening without advance express permission. This...

"Bad stay - the host did not send me check in details on the day of check in so I had to chase her up and she didn't even apologise for the hassle. One of the mattresses is so uncomfortable, you can Feel the springs. If you travel as 2 the host locks the bedroom doors for 1 room, is there any need? Overall, the place is okay but the hassle is not worth it "

"All good except the front door step unsafe, the wind took one of the fence panels and the wheelie bins so couldn’t do rubbish and a man turned up to fix the taps but we refused entry as we had no notification or expectation of visit."

"Lovely little house, with everything you need for a home from home.
Downsides- there is child lock on the Wi-fi, not good for a tradesman working away. Cold house- woke up every morning shivering. Wasn’t sure how to set heating timer. And next door there are elderly neighbours who must be deaf- they are night owls and I’m sure their tv is directly opposite the wall of bed stand. Was maybe 2am before all was quiet. Also nothing to do with house but there were scrambler bikes going up and down...

"Good stay for one night, we had efficient communication with the owner. Slightly odd to had a large Elvis on the wall, but that's seen in photos! Comfy and clean, good value."

"Really quick and pleasant check in, lobby was lovely with open fire and friendly staff. Room was incredible with wood beams yet modern feel and amenities. Bed comfortable with premium bedding and pillows, room had everything you needed. Spoilt for choice in the bathroom with an amazing bath and double shower with incredible water pressure. I stay away alot but this place out performs massively and for the price point I would have paid double what what they gave me. Can't wait to return again and will use the spa facilities hopefully"
"Good room, nice and warm with an oiled filled radiator to assist the room heating. Even though it was right in the middle of the services, the room was quiet, and I got a good night's sleep. The breakfast wasn't in house but in the services area. Good breakfast, but I would recommend getting the take away option as the area was quite cold."

"Warm welcome from reception. Excellent service in the restaurant. Good choice for evening meal, nicely presented and very tasty.
Room was comfortable, I slept very well.
Hotel is in a good location. "
"Clean, modern hotel with on site parking, friendly and welcoming staff, clean and spacious rooms with all the mod cons.
This is my goto hotel when staying in Corby"

What’s a holiday rental in Gretton like?
Holiday rentals are private properties where you can stay for a few weeks, or just a few days, in Gretton. Holiday rentals provide amenities such as WiFi and washers and dryers so you'll have all the conveniences of home. If you're concerned about a sanitised environment, a holiday rental can offer a sense of privacy away from public hotel lifts and lobbies bustling with people while still allowing you the excitement and enjoyment of travel. You'll also have more space in a holiday rental than in a hotel, which is another reason why a holiday rental is an attractive option for a small group gathering.
