"We have never had such helpful staff member .Romain acted like a tour guide as well as English speaking contact at the hotel.He new about ,lift tickets ,the ski resorts ,rental gear,restaurants,taxis ,clubs and bars,transport to and from Hakuba ,bus time tables ,etc etc . And he did it all with a smile on his face and helped make our holiday a beauty! The hotel has a very good spa and bus services run to ski fields pretty regularly ."

The ski shuttle service the hotel provides is also fantastic. Whenever you want to ski, you simply go down to the ski concierge, let them know you’re heading out, and they’ll have all of your gear ready—clean, dry, and warm. "Near eating place and bus stops to ski resort"

"We had a good stay at Furuhata, but there were a few inconveniences. The onsen was fantastic—nice and hot, perfect after a long day of skiing. Towels and kimonos were replaced daily, which was a great touch, and beds were made every two days. The price was reasonable, and the shuttle to the ski resort was convenient. However, there was no shuttle into town, bus station or train station and taxi options were nonexistent, which made getting around a bit tricky. There were only a few restaurants...

"The hosts at the hotel were extremely hospitable. They helped us get to our hike at Mount Tsubakuro and created a wonderful environment for rest and relaxation. The food was great, too!"

"Staff lovely. Minimal english. Fantastic breakfast - book on ipad at restaurant the night before and print ticket. Candy and drinks included in evening. Hot spring was lovely. Shuttle bus fills early. "

"Had a great stay at Kurobe Unazuki Onsen Yamanoha. Breakfast and dinner were buffet style with many options - both traditional and western. Room was very spacious and was a lot bigger than we were expecting! Highlight was the outdoor Onsen. Would highly recommend - staff spoke good English and very friendly. "
