"This was by far the worst room we stayed in during our three weeks in the Maritimes. The room was in the basement, so the bottom of our window was at ground level, by the sidewalk, which meant we couldn't open the curtains because passers-by would look in. The room was about 10ft x 8ft. - just enough space for the double bed, but no other furniture. The bathroom only had a shower. We immediately pulled the sheets off the bed looking for bugs, but thankfully didn't find any. We did however find a couple of tiny dead worms and in the bathroom I'm pretty sure a cockroach came out of a crack then when back in before I could kill him. There was no free parking during daytime hours on the street and I could have paid $20/day to park in the hotel's parking lot somewhere way around the corner. The price of accommodations in Halifax is outrageous. The price we paid at this hotel was comparable to really nice hotels everywhere else in the Maritimes. I definitely DO NOT recommend this hotel. When we came back to the Halifax area at the end of our trip, we stayed in Truro one hour north and commuted. Even after the fuel consumption we saved about $100 for 3 nights and had a beautiful rest."
