"Charming Civil War era hotel in fantastic historic location. Clean with helpful staff. The mini split did not cool the room adequately, but the windows open and there was a ceiling fan!"

"Honest opinion. The lobby and property grounds were very nice. However the rooms were very dated and the tv was small. The beds were fairly comfortable for me but my husband thought it was a bit lumpy and could feel springs. The beds could use a thicker blanket or spare in the closet. Everything was very clean in the room though. Shower and water pressure were great. The pool was cold for an indoor pool and the hot tub felt great but needs to be resurfaced. The diner was nice for breakfast. We traveled with our grandkids for a little weekend getaway. They enjoyed it and that’s all that really mattered but they would have been in the pool longer if it was slightly warmer. All in all, a bit overpriced and ok but needs improvements."

"Horrible! Don’t spend your money! Bathtub was flooding and black dirty tub with other people hair. Old Shower head was spreading out to the floor .. toilet was dirty. Bed was comfy. Our slide door to our bedroom was broken. Old building. Can hear dogs barking in rooms. Pool I did not see anyone clean the pool. We did not use it. Thank god! Overall stay 1 star. Breakfast was okay! Never coming back. Thanks. Good near the area overpriced and gross. Pizza and salads was awful. Thank me later. No refund or discounts."

"The room was very nice, as well as the amenities in the room. We thought the breakfast menu was rather lacking in that the only hot food available was make your own waffles. Most other hotels we stay at offer items such as scrambled eggs, sausage/bacon, biscuits, muffins, etc."

"Our reservation was not easy for the front desk to find for whatever reason which was very curious to me?? I had added my brother's name as the extra guest in the second room I had reserved, but apparently that one ended up being the primary name on the reservation (even though the Hotels.com account is mine through which I booked both of our rooms.) So this was a bit confusing and caused a delay a check in which I never like... especially for anyone who is waiting to check in after me. I had not used Hotels.com for quite a few years, so hopefully this is not the case for many others in recent years,. but for whatever reason I was not able to book the Microtel Inn & Suites directly on their own platform, so I used this route as the familiar option. The stay itself was nice... clean rooms, friendly staff, comfortable sleep. Did not try the free breakfast or any use of the exercise area or pools. But the areas we encountered were clean and welcoming. The candy bowls sitting throughout the lobby area were a nice and "sweet" added bonus. : )"
