I stayed at the hotel for two nights and during that time, I had a visitor who brought a small 4 lb dog. Unbeknownst to me, two people from hotel management entered my room while I was away and left a notice stating that I would be charged a $75.00 Pet Fee. When the visitor arrived, we walked by the front desk, and no one mentioned that I would be charged a fee if the pet entered my room. This would have been the appropriate time to communicate this "hotel policy"; however, no such information was provided. When I reached out to the front desk, they informed me that regardless of the dog only visiting for a few hours, the fee still applied. Additionally, the room is supposed to be cleaned daily. I had to request room cleaning three times, and finally, someone who appeared to be from maintenance came at 7 pm to pick up the trash. Due to a language barrier (he did not speak or understand English), he did not comprehend his responsibilities. When I raised these concerns with the front desk, they contacted a woman from housekeeping who claimed that the staff did not clean my room because it appeared that I had checked out. The manager on duty mentioned that according to their system, I was not marked as checked out, so it must have been a "glitch" in the system. This explanation seems illogical because if the housekeeping department saw that my room was vacant due to a guest checking out, they would have certainly cleaned the room in preparation for the next booking.
