Got lost at the entrance. Gate guard spoke no English. I feel we were the only fools to book a villa room. The room was outdated. The private pool was empty. Required at least 50 minutes for staff to fill it and we didnt want it filled because the pool looked unclean with leaves all over. I booked the villa to use the private pool and jacuzzi. Didnt do either. The jacuzzi was just a shallow outdoor bathtub. We also notice the private pool was not so private because the normal hotel guests on the 2nd and 3rd floor can just look down their balcony into our “private yard”. The villa’s lounge had dessert, coffee and tea, but the items offered were the same as the dismal afternoon tea buffet they had at the cafe. Breakfast buffet was decent. The villa gave a complimentary cup of carrots to feed the deers they have there (6 measly pieces between 4 deers). 2 bites & each carrot slice was gone. Most of the staff doesnt speak English and to get to the private beach, you have to go down 3 levels, walk through a large empty area (under construction), down a corridor, down a path of wooden stairs and then beyond two large boulders to a beach full of other guests.
We stayed at the Chateau Beach Resort 3 years ago and their beach access was literally right next to their swimming pools and the beach was empty. Lots of lounge chairs just waiting for people to lay on them. That was what I expected at Howard Villa. Very disappointed for twice the cost. Front desk service was good.
