"Beautiful view, the breakfast was delicious, and the staff was very friendly."

"They canceled my reservation and didn’t email me. Very poor communication."

"Staff is very welcoming and nice. However our room wasn’t that clean to begin with. The bed mattresses were very old and uncomfortable to sleep on. Our room was only cleaned once and the restroom was dusty and full of spiders. The curtains looked very dirty throughout the room. The shower looked filthy and gross. Breakfast was good but only toddler portions are free which consist of bananas and pineapple and if you want an omelet or gallo pinto it’s extra. Laundry service was very expensive and...

"Super nice folks, simple comfy clean accomodations and a fantastic meditation garden. Excellent, especially for the price."

"The breakfast was awesome!@ and the staff very helpful nice and cozy in the breakfast area!!"

"We spent a wonderful five nights here in a family room and it was a truly immersive rainforest experience we will never forget. You are deep in the forest and an abundance of wildlife is all around-including some in your room or on your terrace so you need to be comfortable with that. We saw many toucans, hummingbirds, howler monkeys, an anteater, possums, and many jungle insects right from our room and immediately outside it, The howler monkeys wake you at 5am every day with deafening calls...

"Lo bueno: -Cercanía a San José -Restaurante con buenos precios y comida rica -Lindos jardines Lo malo: -Mucha humedad, requiere mucho mantenimiento -Mucho ruido de trailers durante toda la noche por la cercanía a la ruta 32 -El humo de la chimenea no salía bien y todo el cuarto se llenó de humo"

"La Terraza was an absolute delight. The staff and owners couldn’t have been more friendly, more helpful, more accommodating. We stayed in the El Rio apartment. A bit more expensive than a regular room but, OMG, so worth it!! Its large, has a beautiful view from the terrace, full kitchen, beautifully decorated. The owners, Charles and Peter, were an absolute delight. We talked through the entire breakfast and Charles even joined us one day for breakfast. The staff was also delightful. Mauricio...

"9/10!! Great staff. Good breakfast. Amazing views from the deck. Conveniently located downtown Tortuguero. The tour guide, Luis, we had was great. I highly recommend Casa Marbella, and their tours!"

"Un hotel muy estético, acogedor y tranquilo. Muy recomendable."

"This is a wonderful tico property that truly feels authentic Costa Rican. In the thick rain forest I felt very close to the earth. The breakfast is special and the owner is fabulous. I will return!"

"Staff was really helpful at check-in. Rooms were very basic but good value for the price, especially since they provided breakfast. I loved the full size fridge and kitchen facility which would allow you to store and cook basic things if you were staying for multiple days. The only negative was that they wanted to charge me $20 USD for 1/2 of a load of clothes. I had expected/hoped to have access to a self serve laundry."

"Room and bathroom were clean. We had a late flight in the San Jose, so checked in at the hotel after midnight, when nobody was there at the front desk, but we received clear instructions for checkin by messages and also from the taxi driver who picked us up. So, it went smoothly."

"El hospedaje es sencillo pero tiene todos los servicios necesarios para pasar el día y es muy útil su ubicación cerca del aeropuerto. El único punto negativo es que no me respondieron sobre el servicio del recogida del aeropuerto"

"After making a reservation, we received a message stating that the property had not been available for a long time, despite still being listed. We were surprised and disappointed, especially since we have not received any response regarding our refund. Very poor communication and an overall frustrating experience."

"Difficile de croire que c’est un hôtel trois étoiles. Et je suis aussi surpris par les commentaires lus sur cet hôtel. Certes, un cafard dans la douche, ça peut arriver, mais cela confirme l’impression générale… Les plus: emplacement et le service (très accueillant et gentil) Les moins: le prix, le confort, la propreté, le bruit… En résumé: pourquoi pas pour une nuit, mais au-delà ça ne les vaut pas du tout."

"Very large, clean and quiet room in a good and safe neighborhood"
