"The main issue with my stay this time, was that the hotel was undergoing a major renovation of the lobby and other common areas, and the outside facade. Great that they're upgrading, but it was total surprise to me when I got there to see all that construction going on. This should've mentioned somewhere in the description of the hotel. It was not an inviting place to be in after a long day. I get it that the price of the rooms may reflect the current state of the hotel, but regardless, I would not have stayed there if I knew about the renovations happening, which might be why they're not saying anything about it, but that's not right. People deserve to know what they're signing up for! I have two more trips planned to that area in the next several months, and I will be staying at the Hampton Inn instead."

"Location was convenient for us, near the family we were visiting. We didn’t use “amenities” we were just there for a place to sleep. We don’t eat “hotel breakfasts” ( since a nice Denny’s was just down the street) because crowded and noisy. LA Quinta is a chain hotel, nice in its own way, but not as interesting/quirky as a good old mom ‘n pop motel. We stay often, and it’s just okay. Except rude people make a ton of noise early in the morning going down the hallway while we’re still trying to sleep. Maybe a sign or two asking people to be considerate AND QUIET?"
"The food in the restaurant was not very good. The breakfast was the best.
The staff was good except when we asked for a phone in our room. At first no one responded and then we were told they didn't have any extra phones. A room without a phone at &600+ a night.
Our room was poorly equipped, 1 tiny nightstand on the right of the bed, no where to put luggage except on a Cleopatra like coach which took up most of the room, no where in the bathroom to put a toothbrush or cosmetics and very poor lighting. We were very disappointed for the money. Oh, the lobby was lovely."
