"THE GOOD: Quiet and set back from the main road, mature trees and lovely flower beds, nice communal areas (a piano player was there Sunday), great hot breakfast, friendly staff, terrific pool area, walking distance to some restaurants.
THE BAD: Bathroom fan cover was coated with dust; some bed pillows were quite old (one had a few blood spots!) and need to be tossed, lobby upstairs carpet is stained.
A special shout-out to Pamela and Naomi at the front desk - you made me feel welcome and...

"We loved our stay at this hotel! The bed was the most comfortable one we’ve had at a hotel. The room was spacious and very clean. The grounds were beautiful with a nice patio area outside where we ate breakfast. Breakfast was great, and there was even homemade banana cake. A favorite of ours was the coffee machine open 24/7 that made coffees, cappuccino, etc."

"Hotel was okay. I would skip it next time when in town. Front desk rep was very nice, and quite friendly. The room was quite clean, and the beds quite comfortable. Apart from that, the rest was just the basics (I’m thinking Motel 6). As far as breakfast..very disappointing. Waffle maker, dry cereals and beads.
I can do much better at the same pricing elsewhere."

"The bistro, basement “speakeasy,” and lobby bar were all great. The staff was friendly and helpful. The old-timer elevator is cool. The location on the main public square is a big part of the appeal. There are so many shops, restaurants, and bars within easy walking distance.
You have to accept it’s an older building and not super fancy but you’re not there to stay in your room."
