"Surrounding Great Sand Dunes was very convenient. The hummingbird feeders near our room, was one of the highlights as there were many birds so close to us, as we looked over the sand dune backdrop. Hostess at front desk filled the feeders up as soon as we told her they are running out of feeder food.
The restaurant just down the hill was excellent, with great staff and great food. We had a great time staying at the Great Sand Dune Lodge."
"It is an older hotel, and the bathroom is small as are the rooms. But I found it to be a nice stay. A good experience. Turn on your ac unit as soon as you go to the room and come back in half an hour and it will be cool. "

"Did a 4 day weekend road trip in Colorado. This was our last stop. Been to this tiny, quiet town before and had low expectations. HOWEVER, we were pleasantly surprised. It was the best of our 3 hotels. Granted, it was also the newest. It had the best bed, largest room, only one with a pool and least expensive. Great place to stay. About a 40 minute drive to Great Sand Dunes National Park."
"Great concept for lodging, movie and meals. We stayed in the steamer suite which has a private bathroom. Simplistic, comfortable, quiet, nicely appointed room with walk out patio. We had brought our blackstone and cooked dinner on the rock gravel just off the patio. The accommodations were perfect. There is a concession area that you can rent cooking boxes to make your meals.
