"Checked in, and the gal at the front desk started to give me an electronic key to room 202, paused a moment and changed it to 201. I drove over to room 201 and noticed the door looked different than the rest (beat up and paint missing). I scanned the key and "very easily" opened the door. I needed to leave for a few minutes, and tried to close the door, it would not latch/lock. I put my valuables back in the car, and went to the gal at the front desk. Told her the door wouldn't lock, so she called someone to fix it. A man came (didn't really seem capable of fixing anything) and told me to really slam it shut. He kept saving slam harder, and with a ridiculous slam (3rd try) it latched. So, when I tried to use my card to get back in, he then said ram the door. Again 3rd try (linebacker still) it opened. He said "yeah, it's tricky", and I told him I can't stay here like that it's not safe. He put up his hands and said, "It's not on me..." and walked away. I went back to the gal at the front desk and told her the door doesn't work and I can't stay there (she already told me I couldn't switch to another room) so I left. When Hotels.com called the front desk, she lied and said the door worked fine, and there was nothing she could do because I checked out. Hotels.com said it's none refundable and nothing can be done. I guess reviews like this are the way to avoid disappt. *** Would advise not staying here - run down facility, poor customer service, and staff not honest *** :("
