"Take a step back in time and seek this diamond in the ruff. This retro renovated old fashioned motel will have you in a peaceful place as soon as you pull in the drive. Key takeaways of staying at “Swell Motel” include the following: Pool on site, very clean Local art shop on location, you must go! Pull up to your room, your space at “your” door. Welcoming office, friendly staff. Meet Laura the local owner, who makes you feel like family immediately. Amazing outdoor kitchen to cook your local catch with a covered pavilion, with enough seating to accommodate their weekly local live music on the performance stage with dance floor. Meet the locals who come, and listen to their stories of generations of island living, tales of storms, and a history that will change your life. Time here is meant to be spent outside with every amenity you can imagine. Retro bikes to ride for free, playground, corn hole, horseshoes, amazing outdoor state of the art fish cleaning station I was stunned by. Huge new ice maker to pack your coolers, best one I had seen ever at a motel or five star hotel. The rooms….huge and renovated. Very clean, high end linens, and comfortable beds, plenty of pillows, and a kitchen with everything you need. Huge new shower, and an amazing room overall. I can’t say enough about this diamond in the ruff. I was there on a getaway from the crowded northern beaches for a few days, and can’t wait to go back . A mental retreat for your soul ."
