"Resort staff were friendly. They helped accommodate our group (3 adults, 6 kids) to have a pizza party in a hotel common area as opposed to us jamming in one room or sitting out in the hot heat. The base camp staff were helpful and it was great to have access to the base camp equipment! The pools were fun and in good shape.
Hotel rooms and common areas could use a facelift. I don’t think it’s changed since I was there 25 years ago. Ate at the bears paw twice and antlers once. Antlers was good for our 1 breakfast meal we ate there. Bears paw food was good but price was high and service was lacking and that was really solidified when the point of sale machine was handed over and the starting tip % was 18%. I lowered the tip % based on the service.
All in all, the resort is great for families and we would return!"
"Exactly what you expect left from the hey day in the 70/80's in a town that no longer has the industry needed to keep it viable & profitable. Now it is off the beaten path & a great place to stay if you forgive the price paid by crappy policies & the political interests that destroyed the economy needed to support it 🙄 Great staff and comfy bed!!"
"We very much enjoyed our stay at the Kanata. Staff was very friendly and food was really good. The location is convenient--and price was reasonable for mid July."
"An amazing place to get away to golf or just relax. Food is great and has great variety, complimented by the wine and sprit selections.
The quietness was the first thing that hit us, sitting in the chairs at the fire pit, watching the sunset , provided the ambience we were looking for"
