"Excellent location with great views if booking a room with sea view. Very pleasant staff. On site parking. Dog friendly but the additional charge double that of most other hotels. Unfortunately no restaurant available this visit and only a basic continental breakfast with tea and coffee in hot water jugs ( a pet hate of mine) so disappointing. "

"Stopped off here overnight on my way along the WHW for the night. I arrived earlier than the 3pm check in time so decided to pop in for a drink, there’s no ‘public bar’ where you can walk in and order a beer so had to be shown through to the bar which operates (a very slow) table service. I only had the one pint and got up and left after sitting with an empty glass for 15 minutes or so. £6.25 ‘house’ lager is the cheapest pint but a bit steep however there was a decent local selection of drinks. The woman on the desk was quite friendly and gave me a table next to the bar (didn’t help get a drink any quicker) oddly she turned up in the breakfast room the next morning with what appeared to be pyjamas and a shower cap on so maybe she lives there. Food menu was your average run of the mill stuff. A bit overpriced in my opinion and although I never ate at lunch, the menu was the same in the evening. I had a burger which was nothing special for the price and again drink service was slow at best so I never hung about long which is a shame as the bar area is quite a nice space other than the cobwebs and jumble sale items all over the place. Upon checking in, I was allocate a room which was in a cottage further up the room from the main building. Looked ideal from the outside although felt like a trek to get to it after a long day walking. The room itself was decent with no complaints on the facilities, they’ve missed a trick not putting bath in with a shower above it though."

"Booked this as an 18th Birthday present for my son and his girlfriend. Upon arrival they were asked to add on breakfast(which was already included) I called the hotel and receptionist said the manager would call me back, this was 3 weeks ago. Still no contact and off putting as it’s not a cheap hotel. "

"Had a very nice 2-night stay at Loch Long Hotel with my daughter and grandson. On arrival the reception area is very bright, modern and welcoming. The man on reception is extremely polite. After reading some really negative reviews I wasn't expecting much but was more than pleasantly surprised by how nice it actually is. We stayed in the family room, which is small but adequately eqipped with a double and single bed and bath. The room was lovely and warm,bedding was very clean and the hot water was perfect. Plenty tea/coffee and toiletries. I used the free hot tub and sauna which was fantastic. The food was superb at each meal for all three of us. Considering that this is a budget hotel with a budget price it gave excellent value for money. Entertainment in the lounge was also excellent. We will definitely return here "
