"This property is a motel, not a hotel. The bathroom and shower contained visible mold, including black mold. The bed linens were worn and yellowed, and the lack of sheer curtains required the blackout shades to remain closed at all times for privacy. The entry door had a large gap with no weatherstripping, allowing insects into the room. Basic conveniences were lacking, including bedside outlets on one side of the bed and an in-room safe. The closet door could not fully open because it was obstructed by the nightstand.
As a motel, there was no common area available after 10:00 p.m. As a result, our group had to bring chairs from our rooms and gather in the parking lot. The advertised complimentary breakfast consisted of a loaf of bread, packets of instant oatmeal, and coffee.
Most concerning, this property was promoted as the nicest hotel in San Angelo. I had reserved three rooms, yet every guest in my party checked out a day early and relocated to the Courtyard by Marriott due to the poor condition of the accommodations and the overall guest experience."
