"This was one of the most unique and beautiful places I have ever stayed. The owner contacted me in advance to ask when we would arrive, and she was helpful in finding a place to park and other relevant information. As others have noted, the hotel is located in a rural village. It is about a half-hour pleasant drive to beaches.
We rented the family room, which was plenty big for 5 people. The room appeared even more unique and beautiful than the pictures. There were also 2 bathrooms, which was helpful. The rooms did not have AC, but the owner supplied a fan since it was summer.
As others have noted, the owners are amazing. We ordered dinner at the hotel both nights and enjoyed the explanations of what each dish was. The breakfast, which was included, was my favorite. The owner described how she made the cheeses, bread, etc., and the food certainly tasted fresh and delicious.
In total, the vibe at the hotel was wonderful, and we appreciated learning about Turkish culture and cuisine from the hosts. We really felt like we were staying at someone's house with the lovely hospitality. Thank you! "
"What a gem! This was an incredible experience before exploring the ruins of Pergamon the following day. Highly recommend for travelers wanting an authentic experience!"
"Tucked beneath the ancient ruins of Pergamon, the Alaia Hotel sits quietly in the old Ottoman quarter of Bergama. With its charming and eclectic furnishings, it proved to be a wonderful choice. Navigating the winding cobbled streets was tricky—even Google Maps struggled—but the owner was communicative and guided us there with ease. In the morning, we enjoyed a delicious homemade Turkish breakfast, and best of all, everything we wanted to see was within walking distance."
"It is a "normal" Ramada hotel. Everything you would expect in any other country. It's new and very clean. There is a restaurant on-site that serves dinner and breakfast buffet. The biggest inconvenience is the location. It's located next to the highway and suits well those who decided to make a stop while traveling. There is nothing else around the hotel besides a gas station. Also, the hotel price matches the prices in the US but, in my opinion, is too much for Turkey. I guess it's because there is not much competition around it. "
