"Very helpful, we were going to be later than anticipated arriving, phoned to let them know, they reassured us it was no problem, everything was ready for our stay. Check-in at the bar was easy, staff showed us to our studio, staff very cheerful. Food in the pub was great, not just pub grub. Only downside, studio was small."

"We loved this property. The owners obviously have an eye for decor as it is a really stylish place and beautifully finished. We loved how peaceful the property was and the owners had thought of everything . We really appreciated the tea, coffee and milk after a 5 hour drive and the muffins, biscuits and crisps were a lovely touch. All the information you needed was in a folder and we visited lots of the places recommenced in it. It’s a fantastic property and we hope to stay there again."

"Very friendly reception from the landlord Gareth who provided a most enlivening atmosphere in the Duke of Wellington ie a darts match for the men and Easter wreath making for the ladies. No food unfortunately but we found an excellent Italian restaurant in nearby Northallerton. The courtyard room was clean and comfortable, marred only by a very awkward shower - not easy to enter, due to lack of space."

"Definitely a 5* establishment. Easy check-in with attentive and polite staff. Beautiful, spacious and well maintained rooms with lots of helpful little details. Even though the hotel was going through a major refurbishment, this did not diminish the customer experience. Varied breakfast with fresh, well cooked ingredients. The spa is beautiful and we were lucky that it was not busy, so we had such a relaxing experience. I think it was due to the refurbishment that the restaurant was closed and there were options to eat in the bar or in the nearby clubhouse, both on very limited menus. Not a great choice for vegetarians, so we had to eat elsewhere. I do think this was down to the renovation works though, so wouldn't mark them down for this minor issue which did not detract from our stay."
