"We arrived from Canada early in the morning, and although our room was not ready, they did have a room that we could have. There was an additional fee for the early check-in, which we gladly paid. What we did not know was that it was a handicap room, which was not something we needed and, had we known, we would probably have turned it down. "The room itself was terrific. Large, great for long stays as it had a full kitchen and washing machine. No AC but that seems to be quite common in the UK. The check in process was terrible. The office closes at some point (which wasn’t included on the listing) so we stood there for a long time with our luggage. We tried calling ‘emergency numbers’ with no answer. Luckily a maintenance man came by and was able to help us get in. Then the ‘emergency’ number called back - it’s the same hotel chain...

"The room was clean and well stocked. The staff were excellent and very helpful. The location is good for walking to the train station, the bus station and to shops. However, there are many stairs to enter into the building. The staff assisted with the luggage on check-in and check out. The noise in the alley late at night and all through the night was extreme.
