"Very quiet area, and quiet inside. Conveniently located in close proximity to downtown activities, and right next to the Performing Arts Center with all the music events throughout the year.
Room had a smoky odor on entering, but after turning on AC, that quickly dissipated. The AC worked well; we actually had to set the temperature higher than normal to maintain a comfortable temperature, otherwise we would freeze!
The breakfast was good – standard hotel hot breakfast with eggs, sausage, waffles for hot foods plus the muffins, yogurt, fruit, cereal, etcetera for cold foods. The only negative on breakfast was that seating was limited for when the hotel was full due to a convention being in town (quilter’s). But on the other days, we had the room just about to ourselves.
The staff was extremely helpful and nice – can’t complain about anything on that score. We had to ask for housekeeping to change out the towels every day, but they happily did so, even changing the sheets when we asked.
The only complaint I really have about the hotel (one queen bed) was that the bed was placed extremely close to one wall to the effect that a: there was no room to easily maneuver to get up on that side of the bed, and b: there was no table or anyplace else to lay eyeglasses or book, and no table lamp, so the person on that side of the bed was in a place to dark to be able to read before falling asleep."
