"Nice friendly staff, great value"

"My 1st review was removed and the property telephoned me on my private cell phone to basically "tell me off" - contravening the privacy policy of Expedia. The property itself was fine. The suite was clean, spacious, nicely furnished, and very quiet. My only concern was this hotel had no staff and no office. I booked by Expedia under the term "Hotel", and received a message asking me to fill out and sign 3 forms which I did and then provide a $350 refundable deposit which I did as well. I then...

"Solid choice in Kill Devil Hills. Location is right on the beach with direct access. Nice pool for a change of pace after the ocean. Breakfast was fine. Within walking distance, or a short drive, to several shops & restaurants. Reception staff was very helpful and professional. Room was large with a balcony and view of the beautiful ocean. Only slight criticism is some of the grounds and building exteriors are looking a little worse for wear but that won’t stop me from going back!"

"Early and easy check in. Bed is what you expect for a cheaper property. Not high quality but good for a night or two. Only reason not 5 star is the older man in a red polo who worked there walking around and staring down guest. Spoke with another person staying and we were making jokes he was staring us down as we had our morning cigarette outside."

"Terrible experience. Booked for a family trip. For it's price, it's too expensive. Room was not clean, the floor was very sandy. Seemed like it was not vacuumed or even swept. The hallway to the unit and the unit is outdated and smells bad. Bathroom was small, and bathroom floor broken. AC in the living area and No AC in the room. Was not very happy spending $670 for this 3D2N trip."

Luckily they left 2 days later. We didn’t see anyone to tell about it. It would have been better if we could have seen someone and talk about it but other than that was good, and we enjoyed it. "The hotel is used for full time residents which were having an open fight in front of their multiple children living on the premises, the screaming at each other using profanity and children running around in diapers and underwear unsupervised in the parking lot was very off putting. The hotel also accommodates local workers which live on the premises as well, very nice men but not really a family atmosphere for vacationers. It is not very inviting to guests on actual vacation or fishermen with...

We arrived about 30mins before the office was supposed to close coming to find out no one operates the office and the phone number didnt work.
