"If I paid less for this hotel, my expectations wouldn’t have been so high. The room was okay. Nothing special. The bathroom was outdated and the shower was unruly and the shower didn’t drain so there was a pool of water at the bottom of the shower for most of the stay. There was no buffet breakfast (as advertised) on one of the days. Half of the staff were unfriendly compared to the other places we visited in Thailand. "Samet Ville was a wonderful surprise for us as first-time visitors. It is a rustic setting with a private beach and a wonderfully warm bay inlet. The sand is soft and clean, and the villas range from rustic to modern. The staff was terrific, and the food options were plentiful.
