One night was too short! We saw so many animals coming up to the fence and on the river bank, it was truly an experience watching elephants in the Kruger while eating breakfast! Service, food, the room, the communal areas were all perfect! And it was just a few minutes drive to Kruger National Park gate!

Exception location - excellent service

Buckler's Lodge is located right along the Crocodile River. We saw large herds of elephants each day we were there. We received excellent service from the staff and enjoyed clean and roomy accomodations.

Bel hôtel en général. Par contre il faut réserver à l’avance pour avoir un repas, mais le tout n’est pas mentionné. Alors nous sommes arrivés à 18:00 et nous ne pouvions pas manger au restaurant. De plus, nous ne pouvons pas se fier aux informations données par rapport à l’hôtel ; il est mentionné que le service au chambre est jusqu’à 22h, mais à 21h il n’y avait plus personne, air climatisé sans manette pour la partir et plus personne ne pouvait nous aider. L’emplacement de l’hôtel est magnifique et le personnel est très gentil. La nourriture est excellente, mais aucun endroit pour manger à l’abris des moustiques. Il manque 2-3 éléments importants pour que cet hôtel soit un 5 étoiles.

An amazing experience

I can’t say anything bad about this awesome accommodation. With an impressive deck view over Kruger Park, a 5 mins car ride to Cocodrile Bridge and 14 mins to Komatipoort. The staff is incredibly friendly and the breakfast is delicious. I recommend to hire the Game drive service with Chasing Africa, it was one of the best experiences in my life. I will come back for sure :)

This is an amazing property! There is an enormous deck that faces the river where you can watch wildlife. The staff are so friendly and had very helpful suggestions about Kruger. We swam in the pool under the stars and could hear hippos grunting in the river. There are BBQ’s available and our room had everything we needed to cook. Bedding was excellent. Communication was quick and efficient. Overall would highly recommend

Close to park gates

Check in was effortless and we were met in the parking lot by our host. Apartments very clean and overlooks a fabulous view of the Crocodile River in the south end of Kruger park. Elephants have been known to cross the river and eat right at the hotel. Cleaners were very thorough, dusting underneath tables and chairs even. All staff greet you with a smile and appear to enjoy working there. A wonderful stay, where nothing is too much trouble. A real African feel in a beautiful tranquil setting.

Welcome to paradise

Wow!!! Such a beautiful place, very kind host and super breakfast. Saw some elephants and water buffalos in the morning from the deck. The backyard is the Kruger park and few minutes away from the park's gate. Perfect place if you want to go in and out the park. Everything was perfect except the fact we only stayed one night. Clean, comfortable and relaxing this was better than expected

Great place to see rhinoceros as you eat breakfast

Right on river at edge of Kruger you can sit on verandah in front of room and see wildlife. We saw giraffes, buffalo, and rhinos as they came to the river. Staff very friendly, suggesting where in town to get vegetarian food = Stoep Cafe, and setting up a safari drive for us. No WiFi, but nice selection of cable TV channels for those who don't plan to get up for 5 am game drive. Nice breakfast from 7:45 and if you are lucky, wildlife will be at river at same time. Short drive to gate if you choose to self drive. Great base for enjoying Kruger. Good value for money.

Great Lodge at the river

The location of the hotel was perfect for a visit of the Kruger NP. It took about 10 minutes to reach the nearest gate of the park. The place of the lodge is also very nice, directly on the Crocodile River where we were able to spot some elephants and rhinos in the morning. Our room was well equipped with a kitchen and we also could use a barbeque. Great stay!!!

Kruger is your backyard!

Such a comfortable and friendly hotel. Wildlife is right out your back door. The owners arranged an excellent safari for us. The safari guide picked us up right at Buckler's and took us for an awesome trip through Kruge. Bucker's is highly recommended and we so wish that we could have stayed longer.

location is great what the guest house facing is crocodile river you have chance to see bufalloes and elephants the guest house is very clean you should check-in earlier to enjoy stunning view

On our honeymoon, my wife and I booked a night at Buckler's before entering Kruger park. Upon entering the lodge we were welcomed by two elephants drinking just across the river, well within eyeshot. The location is superb, OJ and Cheryl were extremely accommodating and the proximity of the wildlife is unlike anything we've ever experienced. We loved it so much we booked another night on the way out of Kruger park. If we ever make it back to SA, we'll definitely spend lots more time at Buckler's.

Great lodge at a great value, in a spectacular scenery, overlooking Kruger Park (it's really close the Crocodile Bridge gate). We booked a smaller unit and the manager suggested we stay in a bigger one, for the same price, so our kid could be more comfortable. We loved the pool and the chill out deck, in the evening. We'll be back, for sure!

Great lodge near gate to Kruger

Five minutes after arrival we watched 9 hippos grazing across the river right from the deckchairs of Buckler's pool. The chalet for three was lovely and the hosts very friendly. They organized our drives into Kruger, the full day tour guided by Dylan with eyes like a hawk, meaning we saw all the Five on one day. Thank you for a great experience!
