We stayed in 3 different hotels during this vacation, & the room we had at Ori had the only window that provided good natural sunlight. The room was so welcoming the moment you walk in. The accent lighting was pleasant; kitchenette with a microwave, 1 set of W/D in each floor, 300Y per wash; the only concern we had was the door to the toilet area that had a 3 slim panel closure, it made a loud noise every time you try to close it, & we could hear the other rooms having the same issue; loved that we were able to leave our luggage in their storage room even after checking out, had a later bullet train scheduled; overall, we loved our stay, wished we had stayed a few more nights; Thank you Ori Kyoto hotel for a great stay!

We loved our stay at Ori. The staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean, and comfortable, and we especially love the bathroom. Laundry was in each floor and convinent to use. We had two rooms accomodate our large family of seven and having the option to cook helped with planning our daily trips. Highly recommend!

Very comfortable for a family

We had a wonderful time at this hotel. Rooms were spacious and had lots of amenities like a refrigerator and microwave as well as a small seating area. Beds were large and comfortable. Area was close to many great restaurants and bars and close to rain stations for sightseeing. Laundry facilities were located on most floors and only cost around $3 per load, which was very convenient. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a family trip to Kyoto.

Great property in walking distance to multiple stations, shopping areas including the Nishiki market and the Nijo Palace. I also ran to the Imperial Palace and gardens easily enough. Accommodation was big enough for family of 4. The area is quiet and felt very safe. Room was very clean and amenities all supplied.

Property was really clean upon check in and we really enjoyed the luggage drop in option that gave us great flexibility in allowing us to explore Kyoto right away. Staff were always polite and helpful.

Loved how modern and clean this hotel was. We stayed in the king room with the tatami mat option, and it did not disappoint in experience. I would strongly recommend to foreign travelers, the hosts were all fluent in English and was extremely helpful with check in procedures. This hotel also offers before/after baggage storage which made a quick run through Kyoto possible

For a family of 4 (booked a family room) the room was exceptionally small with little floor space for luggage. It was approximately, a 10 minute walk from the closest train station. Reception was only available from 2-11, but did have a phone number for emergencies. Coin laundry on the floor. Coffee available for brewing.

Best affordable accommodation

It was great… I really enjoyed my stay. The hotel was relatively new so everything is clean and neat. Room was spacious with 2 double beds and small lounge area. Bathroom was also quite big with a separate toilet and shower. The hotel location wasn’t quite far from the station but it was located inside small road. Definitely coming back here…

Good value, nice staff. Room was surprisingly small, but had what we required ie microwave, etc. Carpet around kitchen not a great idea long-term. Bunk beds were great - very comfy and large, but they definitely compromised the rest of the room as far as size. Location was good but requires a walk into the good parts of Kyoto. Enjoyed it overall.

Great location, clean, not full service hotel

Good: Excellent location in a quaint and quiet but well connected part of Kyoto, nice cafes, convenience stores, unique shops and pharmacies all a stone’s throw away. Room was incredibly clean and surprisingly roomy with a booth-like seating area and a kitchenette with an electric cooktop, some pots and pans, utensils and sink wi th sponge and dish soap! If you’re an English speaker, staff are mostly internationals and are all good with English. Bad: The nonexistent pillows!!!!!! So flat, was just like an empty piece of cloth. Pretty ridiculous. We asked for more pillows because one per person was insufficient but the staff said they couldn’t offer more, gave us more towels to prop up fhe pillows instead. I appreciate the effort but ..??!? Miscellaneous: They don’t offer daily cleaning services, only after you check out, so you need to take out your own trash everyday, which was fine for us but may be frustrating for some. Staff are all very young, most internationals, they seem like they’re university students on a gap year. Interesting mix but may not offer the most attentive service that people who stay at regular hotels may be used to.
