"We booked the more expensive room and when we arrived they gave us the cheaper room that smelled. When I returned to the desk they told me it was a pet room (hence no carpeting). They changed it. When I checked out I asked if they could kindly hold my bag because my husband took the car to a meeting and would pick them up in a couple hours so I did t have to drag them to breakfast meeting. They refused. No willingness to accommodate me. Very disappointing customer service for a Best Western. ...

"Hotel Salem is my Go To property for years during my frequent stays in Salem. The professional-friendly staff, substantial breakfast, convenient location to all dining, shopping, and transportation all make this place truly a home away from home. I travel the Western states and consider this to be the best value for the money I've encountered. I didn't give you the 5 star ratings, YOU EARNED IT!"

"The staff were very kind and friendly. The property is a bit old, but seems to be well-maintained and it sounded like there may be some updates in the works. Although it's not as close to downtown as some other options, the location was easy to get to and there were some great restaurants and shops nearby, including a very cute cafe just behind the hotel in a former bank. I would definitely stay here again."

"The continental breakfast was very limited. They used to have yogurt and peanut butter which they did not have anymore. They did not have half and half for coffee. By the end of our stay there was only grape jelly left for the bread. If you're diabetic you probably would not find anything to eat in the morning. The room was reasonably clean. Though there was stains in the carpet in the hallways and dinged paint and just noticeable where. Staff was very friendly."

"Room was clean, bathroom looked like the maid left half way through the job. Walls were gunky, toilet didn’t appear to have been cleaned, shower was nice and clean. Parked right outside our room so we could keep an eye on the car. Staff was friendly."

"We had a late arrival because of flight issues and they were expecting us late and had everything ready for us when we checked in! The staff was super courteous and the breakfast buffet was as good as you’ll get! I highly recommend them!"

"Dogs barking all night and people fighting people getting evicted from property to hear them fighting and screaming yelling again in the next room over. Sounded like furniture being thrown and a full out rearrange of furniture or like fixtures being ripped from walls. Staff was of little help saying people were evicted two hours prior, lady at front desk was so looped I don’t think she understood what we were telling her. Avoid this place."

"It was better than expected! Rooms were clean and well maintained. Staff were friendly and eager to assist. Continental breakfast was basic, but gets the job done with juices, coffee, apples, oranges, yoghurt, waffles, cereals, bread etc. Only issue was that the bathtub tap in room 326 was slightly faulty, resulting in water dripping every 1-2 secs throughout the day. Light sleepers may have issues, with it. Otherwise, the hotel is reasonably priced. Will not hesitate to stay again the next time...

"The two queen room suite was spacious and clean. The mini fridge wasn’t too cold. The motel is located within walking distance of a couple restaurants and a Dutch bros."
