"We were only advised of the ongoing construction project after paying for the booking. Checking in was very poor and we had a long wait for the room to be ready. We were then advised the day after checking in that the room would only be made up during our stay upon request each day. "The hotel was lovely in a beautiful place and great views all round. We were upgraded which was great and the room was clean, great quality, comfortable and spacious. All the staff were very lovely and professional. The pool and sauna area was nice but I would say not to book this hotel for that as it was quite basic but a nice extra. "We stayed here for one night, half board. The location is fantastic, with amazing views and a short walk to the lakeside. "The hotel is in the beautiful city of Grasmere. There was limited parking even though online advertised available parking. When I booked online, the family room showed two beds. When we arrived, there was only one. The plumbing was very noisy and the shower was very narrow and hard to use. The bed was not comfortable at all. "
